Yesterday, students, parents, and 100 Club of Arizona CEO Melissa Kowalski visited the ACF Staff Meeting to share firsthand what scholarships can make possible.

During this Scholarship Mission Moment, we heard how educational support can give students more freedom to focus on school, pursue future opportunities, and ease some of the financial pressure their families carry along the way.

We’re grateful to the 100 Club of Arizona and to each student and parent who shared their story with us.

Letters of Intent (LOIs) are due TODAY, September 24, for organizations interested in being considered for grant funding.

The D-Backs Foundation supports Arizona nonprofits working in areas including homelessness, hunger, healthcare for underserved communities, and youth programs, among other community needs.

Today marked the start of this season’s ACF Impact Tours with a visit to Habitat for Humanity Central Arizona.

Our fundholders toured Alta Vista Ranch in South Phoenix and learned more about the challenges and opportunities surrounding affordable housing in Arizona. At the time it was built, Alta Vista Ranch was the largest Habitat for Humanity project in the country.

One of the most meaningful parts of the morning came from a fundholder who volunteered on the project in the 1990s and shared her memories with the group.

We ended the tour reflecting on what home means to each of us and the traditions, memories, and experiences connected to it. It was a powerful reminder of how much stability, community, and belonging matter.

We’re looking forward to our next Impact Tour in October with Sojourner Center and Fresh Start, focused on empowering women.

June Brockmeyer, Regional Director for Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff, recently joined Greater Flagstaff Chamber Of Commerce Foundation President & CEO Julie Pastrick on Chamber Bizz Buzz to talk about philanthropy and the role community foundations play in bringing donors, nonprofits and community needs together.

It’s a great conversation about how local philanthropy can help strengthen communities across northern Arizona.

The Arizona Community Foundation joins the Greater Phoenix community in mourning the passing of George Dean, longtime President & CEO of the Greater Phoenix Urban League.

George dedicated more than three decades to leading the organization and nearly 50 years to the Urban League movement. Throughout his career, he remained deeply committed to expanding opportunity, advancing equity, and helping individuals and families build stronger futures.

His leadership helped strengthen efforts across education, workforce development, housing, economic empowerment, and civil rights, leaving a lasting impact throughout Greater Phoenix.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to George’s family, friends, colleagues, and the Board and staff of the Greater Phoenix Urban League. His legacy of service, partnership, and community leadership will not be forgotten.

This Labor Day, we recognize the hard work and dedication of the people who strengthen our communities every day. From nonprofit professionals and volunteers to educators, healthcare workers, and business leaders, your efforts help create a brighter future for Arizona.
