THE PRAYER LIFE OF JESUS | WEEK 1 — WHY DID JESUS PRAY?
What can the prayer life of Jesus teach us about developing a deeper, consistent, and powerful prayer life?
In Week 1 of The Prayer Life of Jesus, we examine why Jesus prioritized prayer, withdrew to the secret place, and continually lived in dependence upon the Father.
 Key Scripture: Mark 1:35
“Very early in the morning… Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where He prayed.”
We’ll explore:
• Why Jesus prayed even in the midst of intense ministry
• The importance of the secret place
• Prayer as relationship—not just requests
• Dependence upon God as a source of strength
• What Gethsemane teaches us about surrendering our will to God
Jesus didn't treat prayer as an emergency response. Prayer was a lifestyle.
If Jesus prioritized prayer, we cannot afford to treat prayer as optional.

**DAY 3 — ALIGNING OUR MOTIVES WITH GOD’S HEART |
Prayer isn't just about getting God to answer what we want. **Prayer is about allowing God to align what we want with His will.**
In Day 3 of **The Third Boundary of Prayer: Our Motives**, we look at **Matthew 6:9–13, Romans 8:26–27, 1 John 5:14–15, Philippians 2:3–5, John 15:7–8, and Matthew 26:36–39.**
Jesus shows us what it looks like to pray with surrender:
**“Not my will, but Yours be done.”**
The goal isn't simply to change God's mind through prayer—it is to allow prayer to **change our hearts, purify our motives, and align us with God's purposes.**

If you'd like, I can also make the **Day 3 title more searchable/clickable for YouTube** while keeping the teaching theme intact.
**DAY 2 —BOUNDARY OF PRAYER**
What is really driving your prayer—**love or fear, faith or control, God's glory or personal recognition?**
In this teaching, we examine **James 4:1–3** and other Scriptures to uncover the mixed motives that can influence our prayers.
A prayer can sound spiritual while still being driven by fear, control, comfort, or personal desire.
The question isn't only:
**“What am I asking God for?”**
It's also:
# **“Why am I asking?”**
Allow God to examine your heart and align your motives with His.

**DAY 1 — GOD EXAMINES THE HEART BEHIND THE PRAYER |
What if the issue isn't **what you're praying for—but why you're praying for it?**
In **James 4:3**, Scripture gives us a challenging truth:
> “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss…”
Prayer is not simply about bringing our requests to God. Prayer also reveals the **condition of our hearts and the motives behind our requests.**
In Day 1 of **The Third Boundary of Prayer: Our Motives**, we examine what happens when a legitimate prayer request is connected to an unhealthy motive.
Are you praying from **love or fear?**
Are you praying from **faith or control?**
Are you seeking **God's glory or recognition?**
Are you seeking **God's Kingdom or simply your comfort?**
And perhaps the hardest question:
**Are you asking God to change someone because you love them—or because they inconvenience you?**
# # # IN THIS TEACHING, WE EXPLORE:
**James 4:1–3** — Why our motives matter in prayer
**Psalm 139:23–24** — Asking God to search our hearts
**Proverbs 16:2** — God weighs the motives behind our actions
**1 Samuel 16:7** — God looks beyond outward appearances
**Hebrews 4:12–13** — God's Word exposes the thoughts and intentions of the heart
A prayer can sound spiritual and still come from fear, insecurity, control, pride, or personal desire.
That's why mature prayer asks more than:
**“God, will You answer this prayer?”**
It also asks:
# **“God, why am I asking You for this?”**
This is where prayer becomes more than a request list.
Prayer becomes a place of **heart examination, spiritual formation, surrender, and alignment with God.**
# # # PRAYER ACTIVATION
Before you ask God to change your circumstances, ask Him to search **you**.
Before you pray about them, pray:
**“Search me, O God, and know my heart.” — Psalm 139:23**
**Lord, expose every motive in me that does not agree with Your heart.**
This is **The Third Boundary of Prayer.**
**The problem isn't always the request. Sometimes the problem is the motive behind the request.**

**P.U.S.H. — Pray Until We See Heaven.**
**PRAYER FOR WAITING ON GOD | Romans 5:3–5 | Trusting God’s Timing**
What is God doing in you while you are waiting for the answer to your prayer?
In this prayer time, we use **Romans 5:3–5** to pray through the purpose of waiting and the spiritual growth that can happen in the process.
We are praying for:
**Character transformation through the refining process**
**Greater dependence on God instead of ourselves**
**Preparation for the weight of the promise**
 **Trust in God’s timing**
 **Protection during seasons of waiting**
**God to receive glory through the process**
Waiting does not mean God is absent. Sometimes the waiting is where **perseverance, character, and hope are being developed in us.**
 Romans 5:3–5 | James 1:4 | Isaiah 40:31 | Habakkuk 2:3 | John 11
**Prayer:** Father, teach me to trust You while I wait. Refine me, prepare me, protect me, and align me with Your timing.
Don't stop at asking. **Keep P.U.S.H.ing. — Pray Until We See Heaven.**

**PRAYER TIME: PREPARING FOR THE WAIT**
Waiting can test our faith, but it can also strengthen our faith.
Today, we are praying for the grace to **prepare while we wait—not just the answer.**
We’re asking God to build endurance in us, deepen our prayer life, increase our spiritual oil, and help us remain ready when His timing comes.
 **Lord, fill my lamp.**
**Lord, strengthen me while I wait.**
**Lord, teach me to trust Your timing.**
 **Lord, keep my faith burning.**
**Lord, help me be ready when You say, “Arise.”**
*“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.”* — Matthew 25:13
This is not just a prayer for God to **move**.
It is a prayer for God to **prepare us for when He does.**
**Don't stop at asking… Keep P.U.S.H.ing.**
