😵‍💫APS’s proposed electricity rate hike would add about $240 per year to the average residential bill! People cannot even afford groceries! The Arizona Corporation Commission must put ratepayers first. Arizona Public Service - APS recently reported $178.6 million in Q2 profits. 🌵⚡

We can barely survive, and APS wants more? | Arizona Capitol Times This is not a struggling company trying to keep up with the cost of business. It is a company asking Arizonans to sacrifice more for less.

The Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) has repealed Arizona’s Energy Efficiency Standards, eliminating a proven affordability tool when Arizona families need more ways to manage energy costs, not fewer.

These standards helped push utilities to offer cost-effective programs that reduce energy waste, lower demand, and help customers save money. Energy efficiency is especially important during Arizona summers, when cooling is not optional and electric bills can force families, seniors, renters, and people on fixed incomes to make difficult choices.

Meanwhile, APS and TEP are both seeking rate increases that would affect families across Arizona. APS is seeking a roughly 15% rate increase, which could raise monthly bills by at least $20. TEP is seeking a 12% rate increase, and Attorney General Kris Mayes has called TEP’s proposal “blatant corporate greed.”

These requests would put even more pressure on household budgets already stretched by high cooling costs, rent, groceries, gas, and other basic needs.

Arizona ratepayers need bill-saving tools and strong utility accountability. The Commission should be protecting customers from unnecessary costs, not eliminating programs that help families save while utilities ask for more.

They sent 30,000 VA employees home.

Not fired. Just... gone. Attrition. Empty desks where doctors and nurses used to sit. And the VA's own inspector general says healthcare staffing shortages are getting worse.

This isn't "streamlining." This isn't "efficiency."

This is what happens when you treat the people who care for veterans as line items on a spreadsheet.

30,000 positions. P**f. Gone.

Meanwhile, the VA's top health official walked out after less than a year on the job. The person overseeing care for 9 million veterans just... quit.

You don't leave a job like that unless something is deeply, fundamentally broken.

When a veteran calls the VA for an appointment and gets voicemail, when the wait grows longer, when the nurse who knew their name is gone, remember:
THIS WAS A CHOICE.
