Valley Natives fosters an urban Native community and coordinates to collectively provide information, resources, cultural awareness, and educational news. The Valley Natives organizes and correlates by the enlightenment of activities, social functions, such as entertainment, conventions, and workshops. Events provide an informal and safe place for people to gather and dialogue around important issues; to connect with others within the community who are equally concerned about the state of the world and to have the opportunity to be exposed to new ideas. We have found that local grassroots community organizing is an essential component of working for real, fundamental social change.

Just a heads up for those that are seeking a little more support for enrolled Navajo tribal members.
It’s been a year of growth, healing, and connection, all rooted in the traditional Diné teachings of K’é (kinship) and Hózhó (harmony).
One year ago today, the Yideeską́ądi Hózhǫǫ́jí Center (YHC) opened its doors in Phoenix and welcomed its first group of Diné relatives as they began their journeys toward recovery and sobriety. Since then, YHC has supported more than 400 relatives from communities across the Navajo Nation and Southwest region.
Built on the principle of “Navajo Healing Navajo,” YHC is a Navajo Nation-owned substance use treatment facility dedicated to serving Navajo Nation members and their immediate families. In partnership with the Navajo Department of Health and Navajo Division of Behavioral & Mental Health Services, YHC is operated by Axiom Care.
Today, we reflected on a year of personal and professional growth while celebrating staff members who reached their one-year work anniversaries. We were also honored to hear powerful stories of hope, healing, and recovery from Diné relatives currently in treatment, as well as YHC alumni who shared their ongoing sobriety journeys.
Ahéheeʼ (thank you) to our Navajo Nation partners, Axiom Care staff, community partners, and the Diné relatives who have made YHC’s first year a success. We look forward to continuing to serve as a source of healing, support, and hope for Navajo Nation members and their families for years to come.
