One of my deepest drives of our Ireland trip. Pull cut hit 347 yards. Had about 40 yards in. Don’t worry, I still made par 🤦🏼♂️

Final stop of our trip around Ireland landed us at Portmarnock Golf Club outside Dublin and this place was incredible. Rumor has it they might be the first to host an Open Championship outside of the UK sometime in the next few years, and I totally understand why. This is a course I could play over and over again. Left a few birdies out there and dealt with some crazy wind and rain conditions at the start but what a heck of a final round to wrap up the trip. This place is a must play if you ever get the chance.

Ardglass is a hidden gem of a course. The tee box on number one is super cool after entering through castle ruins and it feels like almost every hole on the front 9 rides along the coastline with epic cliffs and rocks below. The back 9 turns up the heat a bit with some challenging holes, a back to back par 5 with one of them pushing 600 yards, and a fun down hill finishing hole that could be a less than driver play to reach the green. Nearly made an ace on the downhill Par 4, No. 10 from the first video. With the addition of a full driving range and a few more years of course maturity, this place won’t be “hidden” for long.

Royal County Down truly lives up to the hype. Many people have this ranked top 3 in the world and I get why. It’s not a country club, amenity packed facility. It’s a golfers club, the way golf was intended to be played. It is pure in its own links style course way. Tight lies, blind drives, crafty shots. You have to have it all. We had mixes of high gusts of wind, a small spell of some rain rolling in from the Mountains of Mourne, but all in all it was an unreal day of golf.

Today was a proper round of Ireland golf at Royal Portrush. We had about 4.5 holes of great weather and then the rain came in and wind got gusting to 20+ mph and we just had to hold on from there. Ironically I also played much better golf during that entire stretch, despite all the wetness and management that has to go along with the. Portrush is as pure of a course as you’ll find. Host of the 1951, 2019 and 2025 Open Championships, I can’t wait to get the opportunity to come back and play it again, hopefully very soon.

Portstewart Strand Course in Northern Ireland is a special one. I’ve been lucky to play the course once before but there’s been a few minor changes since then. Our first 5 or 6 holes was brutal. Wind gusting at 20 mph plus, rain coming down, a true Ireland golf day. Gotta say though, the best touch here was the Guinness and sausage roll at the halfway house. That was class.

Trump Doonbeg is one of my favorite combinations of hotel/property & golf courses anywhere in the world. The place is truly special. I’ve been fortunate to stay and play here before but I will always want to keep coming back. They’re also getting ready to host the Irish Open in a little less than a month so that place was pristine
Well that was pretty brutal…

Ballybunion Golf Club, the number one rated course in Ireland did not disappoint. From the blind shots to rolling hills, insane terrain and elevation changes, this one was something unlike anywhere else I’ve played before. Would love a second go at it now that I “know my way around”

Round number one in the books at Tralee Golf Club. Arnold Palmers first design in Europe and it was a treat. Can’t get better Ireland golf weather than today.
