Last week our district raised money for North Phoenix Kiwanis Club. They fund many of our district’s projects, including dictionaries for every 3rd grade student. Our school ended up raising over $600! The top 3 fundraising classes get to pick 3 staff members to pie in the face. Could it be any of our staff who went to the walk-a-thon??

We want to thank Delivering Dreams of Arizona for supporting 50 of our students with brand new clothes and shoes! We also appreciate our volunteers from pella communities for their help in ensuring every student felt special while choosing their items.

Attention, families! We’re excited to announce a new opportunity for our youngest learners! Washington Elementary School District (WESD), in partnership with A Stepping Stone Foundation, is excited to offer a free, full-day preschool program for children ages 3–5!

Classes begin Monday, October 19, 2026, and will be held Monday–Friday from 8 a.m.–2 p.m. (Early release Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m.).

• Free, full-day preschool
• Free breakfast and lunch
• High-quality early learning

💙For parents and grandparents:
• No income requirement to enroll
• Weekly adult education classes
• Free childcare provided during adult education classes
