We're officially open!

After months of planning, building, and pouring our hearts into this dream, registration is now open for our very first Farmsteader Programs at Leaning Post Acres.

For the past year, so many of you have asked us to let you know when we opened. We promised we would...and we're so excited to finally welcome you to the farm.

At Leaning Post Acres, we believe some of the best learning happens outside the classroom. Our Farmsteader Programs are designed to inspire curiosity, build confidence, and connect children, families, and adults with agriculture through meaningful, hands-on experiences on our working farm.

Every Farm Session is thoughtfully planned, but we also believe some of the best learning happens when curiosity leads the way. We encourage children to ask questions, follow their interests, and dive deeper into the things that spark their excitement. Whether that's learning to milk a goat, collecting eggs, helping care for the animals, discovering insects in the garden, or simply sitting in the grass watching the world around them, every visit is a little different because every group is different.

September Farm Sessions
🌱 Future Farmsteaders
Saturday, September 5
9:00–11:00 AM

Children of all ages are welcome when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Parents and guardians are encouraged to participate alongside their children, making Farmsteaders a shared family learning experience.

🐐 Adult Farmsteaders (18+)
Saturday, September 12
12:00-2:00 pm

For adults who want to learn more about agriculture, livestock, homesteading, or simply enjoy a peaceful morning on the farm.
We're also excited to introduce our Future Farmsteaders Membership, offering four weekly Farm Sessions each month for families who want to make hands-on learning part of their regular routine.

Whether you're a homeschool family, curious about agriculture, or simply looking for a meaningful way to spend time outdoors together, we'd love to welcome you.

There's something special about slowing down for a little while.

Come brush a goat. Collect a few eggs. Sit in the grass and watch the animals do their thing. Ask questions, get your hands dirty, or just enjoy being outside.

At Leaning Post Acres, you don't have to rush from activity to activity. We believe some of the best learning happens when kids (and adults) have time to explore, notice things, and let their curiosity lead the way.

Whether you're coming to learn about livestock, introduce your little ones to farm life, or simply spend a peaceful morning outdoors, we'd love to have you here.

Sometimes the best memories are the simplest ones.

Have you ever heard a child ask why over and over?

"Why do goats have different eyes?"
"Why are some eggs different colors?"
"How does a chicken know where to lay an egg?"

Those questions are where real learning begins.

At Leaning Post Acres, we don't rush people from one activity to the next or try to memorize facts from a worksheet.

We teach at the pace of the people standing in front of us—whether they're four years old or forty.

Sometimes that means spending extra time watching a goat chew its cud because someone wants to know how its stomach works.

Sometimes it means comparing eggs, helping with chores, learning to milk a goat, or simply sitting quietly with an animal.

We believe the best education happens when curiosity leads the way.

Our goal isn't just to teach about livestock and farm animals. It's to raise thinkers. Problem-solvers. People who ask questions, aren't afraid to get their hands dirty, and leave understanding a little more about the animals that feed us and the farms that care for them.

Learning doesn't start in a textbook.
Sometimes... it starts in a barn.

We encourage children to follow their interests, explore the world around them, and dive deeper into the things that spark their excitement.

Some days that might mean learning to milk a goat. Other days it could be collecting eggs, discovering insects in the garden, watching pollinators at work, helping care for our animals, or simply sitting in the grass and observing nature. Because life on a working farm is always changing, every Farm Session is different.
