There’s some pretty πŒπ€π‰πŽπ‘ things happening in Pilot Point, TX!
𝓣𝓱π“ͺ𝓷𝓴 𝓨𝓸𝓾 for this informative update, Mayor Chad Major β€” our community has much to be thankful for and lots to look forward to too!

πŸ“’ A Message from the Mayor
The first seven months of 2026 have shown early progress in implementing the Master Plan Set adopted in 2025. We continue inter-governmental collaboration to strengthen our influence and voice as a community. And we have reason to celebrate much in Pilot Point!

πŸ’§ Water Infrastructure
One of the first things out of the gate, City Council adopted the Water and Wastewater Master Plan in January 2026. As part of Strategic Growth initiative, the goal is to ensure a resilient, diversified and efficient water supply and wastewater system that meets the needs of a growing population.

πŸš’ Public Safety
Another strategic growth initiative saw the opening of Fire Station #3 in February and ribbon cutting ceremony in April. The idea is to improve emergency response infrastructure and staffing to keep pace with population growth.

πŸ’° Grant Opportunities
Our master plans have allowed us to be shovel-ready to apply for grants like "Safe Streets for All" and queued up for a one-time opportunity for a limited number of Texas communities to receive water grant funding to implement water supply/water infrastructure projects for new water well costs.

🀝 Regional Partnerships
We have continued to stay engaged at the county level through the Denton County Mayors Council and added membership in the Metroplex Mayors Association as a tool to stay engaged at the regional level on all issues important to Pilot Point.
The Metroplex Mayors Association is a coalition of mayors, city managers, and industry leaders in the Dallas-Fort Worth Area.
I will just tell you that there was attention focused on transportation, water, and power needs for our growing region with a common theme with mention of data centers. There is a lot of emphasis on preparation for the upcoming legislative session next year.
We are not sitting still, but working proactively on policy and citizen engagement plans to protect what we can and inform our public on legislative issues that may weaken local control or allow unfettered development in areas that our city and the county have little control over.

πŸŽ‰ Downtown Progress
We have much to celebrate in Pilot Point! We are seeing progress that has us moving towards our goal of downtown revitalization and bringing vitality to the square.
The historic Farmers and Merchants Bank owners had a ceremony to mark the beginning of restoration efforts and plans for a restaurant, retail, and speak-easy.
We have reached an agreement for the renovation and re-opening of what we affectionately call Big Red (100 W. Main) into a downtown restaurant.
Bella Mia Winery has had a soft opening and what a beautiful job inside and out!
New restaurants El Rey Seafood Shack and Rollen Forks Bar and Grill opened for business just off the square.

🚧 New Development
On 377, T&J Travel Center had a groundbreaking just last week, anticipating a fuel center, retail shop, and full-service restaurant.
We appreciate it when a legacy landowner and a generational family in our community are thoughtful, intentional, and patient when selling land.
Thank you to the Irick family and local realtor, Texas Tammy for your part in bringing this project to Pilot Point!
This past year has seen a couple of notable residential and mixed-use development adds to the lineup of pending projects.
The Lantern by Hillwood single-family development is bringing a concept of a community within a community off of 1385.
And the Town Center is planning a commercial mix of big box store, retail, restaurant and office along with upscale multifamily units at 1385 and 455.

πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Community Collaboration
Another cause for celebration was the collaborative effort of local organizations – Pilot Point Chamber of Commerce, the Nineteenth Century Club, Lake Ray Roberts Rotary, and American Legion – in partnership with the City of Pilot Point to bring a Parade to Celebrate America's 250th!

Thank you for your continued engagement, support, and pride in our city. It is an honor to serve you.

Mayor, City of Pilot Point

It was a happy birthday indeed for Thomas Daniels on Monday morning.

He got to celebrate the morning with the groundbreaking for the Capital Gainz complex, which will soon be the home of Capital Plumbing, Capital Mechanics and a lease center.

'It's a dream come true,' he said. 'We always wanted to get to a size where we'd have to have our own building, have to have our own place.'
