In 2025, IEEE Special Interest Group on Humanitarian Technology (SIGHT) grew to 300+ groups across 58 countries - surpassing 80,000 members using engineering to tackle local humanitarian challenges! 🌍
Foundation seed funding helped launch several of the newest groups.

Meet the IEEE Foundation Board: Christopher Geiger
As Vice President of Development for the IEEE Foundation Board of Directors, Christopher Geiger brings a rare blend of engineering, finance, and governance expertise to the Board.
Christopher is Vice President, Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk at Lockheed Martin, where he leads internal audit operations for a Fortune 100 aerospace and defense company operating in more than 50 countries. Over his two decades at Lockheed, he has also led corporate sustainability and sustainment technology. He serves on the Board of Directors of MIDFLORIDA Credit Union and is a past chair of Florida Professional Engineers in Industry, as well as a former locally elected official in the state of Florida.
A frequent author and speaker on innovation, risk, and finance, Christopher helps ensure the Foundation stewards donor generosity with care and accountability.
We're grateful for the financial leadership and dedication Christopher brings to advancing the Foundation's mission.

Born on this day in 1791, Michael Faraday changed the course of technology. 🧲
With little formal education, Faraday discovered electromagnetic induction - the principle behind the electric motors, generators, and transformers that power our modern world.
He is celebrated in the IEEE Heritage Circle with the Michael Faraday Level, recognizing donors who give US$500,000-$749,999 in support of IEEE Foundation's charitable mission.
