Unreal omakase last night because there’s no shortage of things to celebrate this month! I love how the menu at Okane Sushi Bar and Omakase was so different from the menu we had a few months ago! I am not a big raw scallop girl but that scallop was so good and the crunchy little crab was delicious! I loved the chawanmushi (steamed egg) that reminded me of childhood. The steak tartar was so good too. I don’t think I had a bad bite. If you haven’t checked them out downtown, you have to!

Last week was a week of beautiful parties in Pittsburgh 💐 my friend got married and I went to the Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania gala!
The Pittsburgh Cookie Table is a wedding tradition with a big, communal display of homemade cookies from friends and family. It has immigrant beginnings and is such a staple in western PA, Ohio, and WV weddings. It really minds me how on a special day with all your friends and family, they are your village making this table happen and it’s a beautiful metaphor for life 🥺🥺
One of my best friends got married this weekend and I made my Earl grey rose scones for their cookie table.

One of the spots that I always forget I love is ! It was always one of Peter and I’s favorite restaurants in town. The drinks at Eleven are always stellar and they have my favorite mussels in town. Ophelia’s Last Word was a beautiful gin drink and the Manhattan was gorgeous as well. You also can’t go wrong with their crab cake sammy! Love that you can just walk in and have dinner in their tavern as well.
The Dollar Bank Three Rivers Arts Festival by the starts tomorrow, Friday, June 5th at the brand new opening of Arts Landing in downtown Pittsburgh! There’s going to be two weekends (June 5-7, 11-14) of art, music, and performances for visitors of all ages. It is one of my favorite festivals in Pittsburgh and it was so cool to check out the new Arts Landing green space that will be such an amazing addition to the Pittsburgh community. I will be here a lot this summer checking out all the movie nights, festivals, jazz nights, and salsa nights! Can’t wait to see all the amazing artists and performers during the Three Rivers Arts Fest!
You need to check out Squonk’s Joy Machine performance happening a few times this weekend because I’ve never seen anything like it! It was so joyful and whimsical how you get to participate and help create the art.

Went to my favorite food festival in Pittsburgh, the annual Bites and Pints Food Festival at this weekend! I look forward to this every year because there’s nothing more fun than eating and drinking around the world while going on fun rides. The food was truly so good this year and they added two new countries with great new bites: France and Germany! My favorite bites of the day were the filet of beef en croute and the profiterole from France! The filet was so good and I loved the mushrooms in the puff pastry! You have to go check out Bites and Pints this summer! It’s happening every weekend until June 28th!

Mango and blackberry pavlova with a passionfruit curd, blackberry jam, and fresh whipped
Made this for my first custom order this weekend and it was so fun coming up with flavors that worked well together! The passionfruit curd brought the tang and balanced out the sweetness of the blackberry jam, ripe mangoes, and marshmallowy merengue.
