As of this morning, Pittsburgh has closed the loophole in the city code that made it difficult to enforce illegal parking on the sidewalk. This has always been illegal in the state of PA, but now our City has a way to correct this bad behavior.
BikePGH and accessibility justice partners will be working to advise the City on how to responsibly approach enforcement moving forward. This is merely the beginning of the conversation on how to implement sidewalk parking enforcement in an equitable way across the city.
