For the longest time, I thought my 4C hair was the problem.

Turns out, it wasn't my hair it was a few wash day habits I needed to change.

These small changes made my wash day easier and helped reduce unnecessary breakage.

Which one are you still doing? ๐Ÿ‘‡ I'd love to hear your experience.

For the longest time, I thought detangling my 4C hair had to be a struggle.

The comb getting stuck, the breakage, the frustration... I thought that was just part of having natural hair.

Turns out, slowing down made all the difference.

Sometimes it's not about buying more products. It's about changing how you handle your hair.

What's one thing you've changed in your wash day routine that made a real difference?

Let's help each other in the comments. ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’š

I watched a video that said Black women wear wigs because they hate their natural hair.

And honestly... that wasn't my story.

I started wearing wigs because I was losing my hair.

Years of constant manipulation, a very tender scalp, and traction alopecia left me with thinning hair and disappearing edges. I thought the answer was doing more to my hair, but it turned out my hair needed the exact opposite.

It needed rest.

Wearing glueless wigs allowed me to leave my cornrows in longer, reduce manipulation, and still moisturize, hydrate, and care for my natural hair underneath. That's when my hair finally started recovering.

I'm not saying every Black woman's experience is the same. It isn't.

Some women are still learning to embrace their natural hair. Others wear wigs for convenience, versatility, work, health, or protection.

That's why I think we should stop assuming a wig tells us how a woman feels about her natural hair.

Sometimes, it's one of the biggest reasons her natural hair is thriving.I'd love to hear your perspective. Why do you wear wigsโ€”or why don't you?

Most people assume that once their hair is tucked away, it's automatically protected.

But a hairstyle isn't protective just because it's called a protective style.

A truly protective style should reduce manipulation, minimize tension, allow access to the scalp, and protect the ends of your hair.

Before calling a hairstyle a protective style, watch this to the end.

Let's settle this debate

When you hear the term "protective style", do you automatically assume your hair is being protected?

Or do you think it depends on things like tension, scalp health, maintenance, and how the hair underneath is being cared for?
