Our 2026–27 season begins with Divergence—a powerful evening of dance exploring the beauty of contrast, conflict, and connection.

Featuring three compelling new works:

• “From Above” by Artistic Director Alan Obuzor, fuses traditional orchestra and modern electronic elements, moving from an unsettled tension into a hypnotic minimalist techno pulse that builds toward immense emotional crescendos.

• “Inner Voices” by guest choreographer Deanna Stanton, explores the space between self-perception and truth—the tension between the stories we tell ourselves and the realities that lie beneath them.

• “Abandonment of Division in the Pursuit of Hope” by Resident Choreographer Madeline Kendall Schreiber, explores the growth of division within our society and the collective helplessness it can bring.

This opening program of Texture’s 16th season promises an evening of bold movement, powerful storytelling, and moments that will stay with you long after the stage lights fade.

We’re so thrilled to welcome Tyler Leach back to the Texture studios this summer as a guest dancer for Divergence!

Tyler is an alumnus of Texture Ballet School, studying at the school from its inception in 2019 until his graduation in 2024. He is currently entering his junior year as a student in the Dance Department at Butler University. Seeing him return to our studios and perform with our company artists feels incredibly full circle.

Tyler’s journey from student with our school to guest dancer with our company reflects the passion, perseverance, and sense of community that define Texture. We couldn’t be more excited to have him with us this summer!

✨ Flashback Friday ✨

While we’re in the studio this summer preparing for our season opener, Divergence, we’re taking a look back at last summer’s program, Infinite Abundance.

Today, we’re revisiting Z E R O F I E L D, choreographed by guest choreographer Haley Nolan—a powerful exploration of invisible forces, gravitational pulls, and the rebalancing energies that exist between people.

As we reflect on the incredible works that have shaped our journey, we’re inspired by the artistry that continues to push us forward. We can’t wait to share another season of world premieres and unique voices.

🎟️ Join us at the New Hazlett Theater and experience the start of our 2026–2027 season with Divergence, July 10-12.

✨ Flashback Friday ✨

As we’re in the studio this summer preparing for our season opener, Divergence, we’re taking a moment to look back at last season’s opener, Infinite Abundance.

Featured here is Volery, choreographed by our Resident Choreographer, Madeline Kendall Schreiber. Inspired by the beauty, freedom, and movement of birds, Volery invited audiences into a world of soaring flight and flocking connection.

We can’t wait to share what we’re creating for the season ahead, but for now, we’re enjoying this look back at a work that helped launch an unforgettable 15th anniversary season. 🕊️
