🦄✨ UNICORNY AWARD: State Rep. La'Tasha D. Mayes ✨🦄

Tonight at Unicorn Palooza, we're honoring State Representative La'Tasha D. Mayes with a Unicorny Award for being our Afrofuturist Activator.

La'Tasha founded New Voices for Reproductive Justice in 2004 and spent 18 years growing it into an organization serving 250,000+ people across PA and Ohio. In 2023, she made history as the first out le***an woman ever elected to the PA General Assembly and the first woman to represent the 24th District in over 50 years. Since then, she's secured $65M+ in state funding for her community, co-led the fight for Pennsylvania's first-ever MOMNIBUS maternal health legislation, and was the prime sponsor of the PA CROWN Act.

embodies what Assemble believes: that bold ideas and hands-on work can transform communities. 🧡

Thank you, Representative Mayes; this one's for you. 🏆
