The Jim Fischerkeller Library of the Pittsburgh Equality Center is the largest LGBTQ+ library in western Pennsylvania!
Presently, we rank as the third largest LGBTQ+ library collection in the United States. The PGH Equality Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, social service organization whose mission is to serve as a bridge that promotes education, advocacy, and social justice for all LGBTQIA+ people and allies in Western Pennsylvania. We strive for this through our vision to cultivate a more collaborative, diverse, just, and empowered community. PGH Equality Center was established in 1979 under the original name as the Gay and Lesbian Community (GLCC) of Pittsburgh.

Happy Pride Month from Pittsburgh Equality Center!
This month, we celebrate the beauty, resilience, brilliance, and joy of our LGBTQIA+ community. Pride is a time to honor those who came before us, uplift those standing beside us, and create space for those still finding their way home to themselves and to community.
This year, we invite you to center q***r joy. Show up. Gather. Dance. Laugh. Rest. Celebrate your identity, your chosen family, and the community that makes Pittsburgh stronger, brighter, and more loving.
Pride is celebration, and Pride is also activism. It is a reminder that our visibility matters, our voices matter, our rights matter, and our connection to one another matters. In a time when many in our community, especially transgender and nonbinary people, continue to face harmful attacks, we know that joy itself can be an act of resistance.
So this Pride Month, let’s be bold in our love, active in our advocacy, generous in our care, and committed to building a future where every LGBTQIA+ person belongs.
Happy 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ Pride, Pittsburgh and southwestern PA. We’re proud to be in community with you.
