We would love to have enough tickets for everyone interested to attend, but due to space limitations and to ensure the safety of all attendees, there will be NO tickets to Pawpaw Fest sold at the door.

We are blown away by the response and interest in the day and will use this knowledge for planning any future pawpaw events!

We couldn’t be more grateful for the enthusiasm and support for the beloved pawpaw tree and Tree Pittsburgh.

We believe some things are best learned by doing. September is Workforce Development Month, so we’re highlighting one of the ways Tree Pittsburgh helps people build skills for careers in the green industry. 💚

Through partnerships with Landforce, Student Conservation Association, and Bidwell Training Center, participants work alongside Tree Pittsburgh staff in real community settings, caring for young trees, pruning, planting, working in our nursery, managing invasive plants, using tools safely, and learning how to solve problems in the field.

We’re so proud to be a place where learning and opportunity meet, and where the skills people build help our trees and communities thrive. 🌳

Happy National Pawpaw Day!

Pawpaws are one of our favorite native trees, and for good reason. They produce North America’s largest native fruit, with a sweet, custardy flavor that’s often compared to banana, mango, and vanilla.

But pawpaws aren’t just delicious. Their trees are part of our region’s forests, providing habitat and supporting local ecosystems.

Our Pawpaw Fest might be sold out, but we hope you still get the chance to celebrate this delicious fruit this year!

Tree Pittsburgh is hiring a Nursery Production Coordinator!

You'll be hands-in-the-soil with our Heritage Nursery, guiding plants and trees from their very first propagation all the way through their lifecycle. You'll get to work alongside our incredible nursery volunteers, pass on your green-thumb knowledge, and watch the direct impact of your work take shape across Pittsburgh's urban forest.

Please remember that these registrations fill up very quickly due to high demand! We also give many selected low-canopy communities early access to registration before we release them to the public. This is part of our work to ensure everyone has equal access to the benefits trees provide.

We always encourage you to come to the end of an event to pick up any trees that remain unclaimed.
