So, what's it like to work in a marketing agency?

Our summer interns walked away with a firsthand perspective on this and more than a few completed projects. They soaked up real world experience through client brainstorms, strategy sessions, and hands-on deliverables, and they learned what it takes to build brands that matter.

In honor of National Intern Day, we're highlighting a couple of the important takeaways from our hardworking summer interns – Cole Hairston and Cristian Cantu. We’re so glad they joined us to plus up our team and learn more about the dynamic world of marketing.

New places. New possibilities. Nothing inspires creativity quite like stepping away. Sometimes our best ideas begin on a mountain climb, around a family gathering, or in a city we’ve never explored before. This summer, our team took time to unplug, recharge, and create lasting memories with loved ones. Check out a few of the adventures that reminded us that a change of scenery often leads to the fresh ideas and different perspectives that make our work even stronger.

It’s not every day you get to throw a surprise celebration fit for a true industry rockstar. Yesterday the Marketwave office was packed with people who traveled from far and wide to surprise Kristin Bult, including former colleagues, longtime clients, and our remote teammates. We banded together to celebrate KB on an incredible milestone: 20 years with Marketwave!

Thank you, Kristin, for 20 years of dedication, leadership, and hard work. You’ve made such a huge impact on our team, our clients, and our culture. Keep rocking on KB!

Two decades of dedication, devotion and dependability. Today, we are celebrating a massive milestone: Kristin Bult’s 20th Workiversary at Marketwave!

All who know Kristin know that she is truly the heart and soul of our awesome team. For two decades Kristin has been expertly balancing administrative and culture priorities while managing Tina’s busy calendar like a scheduling ninja! She brings calm to the chaos and makes everyone who walks through our doors feel welcome and appreciated.

Kristin, thank you for being our anchor for these past two decades. Cheers to 20 years!

As a proud World Cup host city, the excitement is at an all-time high! Even our four-legged friends have caught World Cup fever! Take a look at our new “World Pup” Trading Cards Series – because who doesn’t love dog pics?! Nothing gets us through the dog days of summer quite like these furry friends. They’re the MVPs of stress relief bringing plenty of summer chill.

We continue to set sail this year and as luck would have it - we found us some Cs! This powerhouse duo is ready to surface new ideas and create waves for our crew this summer.

He’s a mean, green eagle from University of North Texas with an impressive double major in graphic design and design management. As a rising senior, Cristian’s passion for advertising-focused design and unique experience with recreational sports design made for a lethal creative combo — and we're glad he's on deck.

Armed with business marketing as his major, Cole is a rising junior at Morehouse College with passion for elevating brands and combining innovative ideas with unique strategies. Bringing an interest in sports, entertainment, and business marketing, we can count on Cole to bring fresh ideas and dive in to any project we give him.

Our 2026 interns are officially onboard and we can’t wait to “C” them shine!

If great design had a soundtrack, it would be whatever James Formica is listening to right now. Wishing a very Happy Birthday to our Senior Art Director and the guy who helps brands rise to the top and keep their groove! Whether he's creating something that stops you mid-scroll or giving back through his volunteer work at Storehouse every week, we love celebrating what he brings to our team. All that to say we are big on James like he’s big on burgers - cheers to him today!

Putting our Service Mindset value into action! Marketwavers spent the morning volunteering at Seven Loaves Food Pantry — part of The Storehouse Community Center in Plano — thanks to expert organizing and connections from Communities Foundation of Texas and its Center for Business Impact program. This volunteer activity is part of many coordinated efforts across the month of April by CFT to mark and we were happy to roll up our sleeves to sort produce, bag groceries, and load food carts for weekly distribution to Collin County families in need. We are inspired to continue giving back to such an amazing nonprofit that helps fight hunger and food insecurity in our community. And grateful our fabulous Sr. Art Director James Formica is a regular volunteer at Storehouse on a weekly basis!

Daily Intensity is one of our core values for a reason — and the kart track is no exception! Marketwavers spent the afternoon revving our engines and driving something other than deadlines for a change with some competitive fun at Andretti Indoor Karting. It was a great way to accelerate the start of our work week and take a brief pit stop together.
