At an In-N-Out in Twin Falls, Idaho, an active shooter threatened innocent lives until a nearby citizen exited his vehicle and engaged the threat with his own firearm. His decisive action stopped the attack cold and prevented what could have become a far greater tragedy.

This is exactly why the right to keep and bear arms remains essential. Law-abiding citizens cannot always wait for police to arrive when seconds count. A prepared individual with a legal firearm became the difference between life and death for everyone present that day.

We should celebrate this hero for his courage and quick thinking. Ordinary people defending themselves and their community demonstrate the strength of a free society where personal responsibility and the means to protect it go hand in hand.
