Countertop Edges: The Detail That Changes Everything

When choosing a countertop, the stone is only part of the story—the edge profile can completely change the finished look.

From the clean simplicity of a square or pencil edge, to the softness of a bullnose, or the elevated detail of an ogee or Dupont edge, each profile brings its own personality to the space.

Modern, traditional, subtle, or statement-making—the right edge is one of those small design decisions that makes a big impact.

Number one piece of advice I could give those who wear wigs…..
Make sure to chose a style that is not only the same color as your natural hair, make sure the texture is similar! Pulling out the bangs and face framing sections to incorporate with the wig is KEY!!! If you look close at my photos, you can see where the bangs stop and the wig begins. Make sure if you buy synthetic, it is heat safe! Blow drying the wig with your hair will blend it better. Depending on the length of your hair, use a large round brush and hit it with a cool shot at the end.

My clients wanted to bring this fireplace wall to life while keeping it modern, timeless, and clean. They were open to maintaining the existing brick, requested a pop of blue, and loved the idea of incorporating white board and batten.

To balance those lighter elements, I introduced a rich, dark wood stain that complements the warm tones throughout the main living space. The result is a striking focal wall that feels intentional, cohesive, and beautifully ties into the rest of the home.
