Making wallets made to last requires a machine that was made to last

A fresh run of limited leather tones, hand dyed and made in small batches. Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Every part of the hide has a purpose.

Some sections are tighter and stronger for wallet backs, others are better suited for pockets and smaller details. In this video I break down how I use different parts of the leather hide to get the best durability and character out of every piece.

Put together a short video from my visit to a company that’s been manufacturing in Portland since 1920.

For over a century they’ve continued producing heavyweight wool jackets, sweaters, and apparel the old-fashioned way, with an attention to detail that’s getting harder and harder to find. Walking through the factory and seeing the machines, the process, and the people behind it all was a reminder that real craftsmanship still exists.
