Another year around the sun or something like that.

My birthday always falls in the midst of the busiest part of the year and rarely do I give it much notice. Yet as I type this, actively knee-deep in packing for another work trip and trying to somewhat clear my email inbox, I can’t help but pause and be thankful for everything that the past year has given me.

In many ways, I still feel like the little kid with an overactive imagination who spent far too much time making potions in the backyard birdbath. With each passing year, it’s not lost on me how lucky I am to continue doing that every day (metaphorically, though. I promise that I’m not making coffee in a birdbath… at least, not yet).

27 was very good and I can’t wait to see what 28 holds.

This past weekend, I had the honor of presenting and serving full barista championship routines in San Francisco at The Wild Fox

These drinks and routines always have an incredibly special place in my heart and so often don’t live on beyond the end of a competition season. A huge thank you to everyone who entrusted me with providing this experience and for being such wonderful guests. Meeting and getting to dive deep with you on what coffee can be has left me with more gratitude and inspiration than I could have possible imagined.

A giant, humongous thank you to Rich Lee, Tsubasa Onozaki, Liza Otanes, and the entire The Wild Fox team for making this possible, providing the space, and supporting competition beyond the stage.

Until next time, San Fran. Watermelon candy milkies forever.

Thank you for the photos Wilson Leung

From one season to another and all the fun little bits in between.
