Hi Oregon Leather! As a part of our ongoing process to improve the OSLC culture and the contest year to year, our next board meeting will have dedicated time for public feedback regarding this year’s contest and surrounding events.

One of the most stressful part of the weekend for contestants is a part that, while open to the public, most people don’t see!

First, the technical boot! Our new 2026 Oregon State Bootblack had 45 minutes to demonstrate their skills, and boy did he!! Look at the difference!

Then, interviews. The judges really made the contestants sweat! All contestants had a time 15 minute interview where each judge asked questions about community, fundraising, values, ethics, and play.

As we are awaiting more photos back from an incredible weekend of events. We want to extend the deepest of thank yous to the community the has showed up for us, that has challenged us to be better, and that has provided an opportunity for us for us to create an event and space to bring so many sections of the community together.

Thank you to Slaughters Portland for hosting our meet and greet and contest evening. The staff made it so smooth and so seamless to be able transform the space and to run an event with so many moving parts. The owner Jon believes in leather, has roots in leather, and was present not just to have an event, but championed our event being in his bar.

Thank you to Eagle Portland for hosting our Victory Party. We packed the bar and are so grateful to have a leather bar so engaged in community.

Thank you to our judges Lucky Ordaz, Emerald Onyx, Adrienne Alexander, Kevin Rohde, Legba Onyx, and Sister Gina Tonic for be guiding presences and doing such an amazing job. We can’t express how grateful we are for your time, your energy, and your love of this community.

Thank you to our contestants. This year, there was such a spirit of whimsy and play in these contestants. With each category they were able to let themselves be moved by the crowd and were able to show something new. We wish our winners the best in the start of their title year and call upon the community to welcome them into your spaces and provide room to represent OR Leather the best they can.

Thank you to our volunteers from PDX PAH, PDX Collar Guard, the Imperial Sovereign Rose Court of Oregon, Portland Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, to our host Clare Apparently, to our contestant coordinators Colin Ashante and Valerie Vititow, and to our sponsors for making this night possible!

Lastly, thank you to those in attendance. The people that make up our community are the reason we make this event and the reason why we can continue to do this work.
