It's been almost six years since the devastating 2020 wildfires roared through Oregon. For many landowners, they've been waiting that long to rebuild or restore their property.
I met Jason Delfel in Clackamas County who is determined to rebuild and put down roots thanks to help from Sustainable Northwest, Mosaic Ecology, Clackamas SWCD, and others.
It may not look like much, but this quiet stop just outside McMinnville has one of the most surprising backstories in Oregon.
A short, quarter-mile hike gets you up to a great view of a Willamette Valley, where something has been waiting a long time to see you.

I've worked with Lincoln City Parks & Recreation several times over the years. They are always top notch and they were great to have fun with me on this one!
Check out the new and improved, veteran-inspired shotgun shooting Range at Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area in Monmouth, OR.
Even if shooting is not your thing, there is plenty to discover.

Some shots from our Mount Adams climb last weekend with an overnight at Lunch Counter. Love climbing these PNW mountains and love having good people to suffer through it with!
A day above the clouds is a great day.

Tuesday South Sister climb with my friend and colleague Joe Raineri.
Helped Joe shoot a story about the “dead” Clark Glacier (now a snow field) around 9,000’.
Made it into a feature while we were at it.
Love getting down to central Oregon and sharing the adventure with you.

A beautiful day remembering John Waller. Friends and family gathered at one of his favorite places for a celebration of life on Saturday.
I didn’t know John well, but he made me feel like a longtime friend.

Before the snow rolled in this week, I slogged up above the Palmer chairlift on Mount Hood.
I wanted to give you a close-up look at the mountain this time of year. I love it because it can change so drastically from day to day. Before you go, always make sure to have the proper gear and check conditions!

The Fort to Sea Trail stretches from Fort Clatsop to Sunset Beach. At 6 miles, it's a great trail to experience the variety of the Oregon Coast.
Where we go to recreate, the group led by Lewis & Clark needed it to survive. Did you know about the Salt Works in Seaside? What is now merely an exhibit commemorates the Corps of Discovery's innovation in the early 1800s. Check it out.
