Of course the Buildright conference, hosted by the , kicked off on Earth Day last week 🌎

A couple takeaways that stuck with me:

Oregon’s upcoming energy code updates are set to shape how homes will be built in the future — in ways that will have a real impact.

And when it comes to marketing high-performance homes, the shift is clear: less sustainability buzzwords, more focus on real concerns like health, safety and resilience.

Also loved seeing a display of children’s books featuring girls and women in the trades 👏

Spring cleaning, but for your content.

When everything is scattered, it’s harder for people to follow — and harder for AI systems to understand.

A little structure goes a long way.

I just shared a LinkedIn newsletter with five simple ways to organize your content so it’s clearer, easier to interpret and more likely to show up in AI-generated answers.

Worried about “structured content”? You don’t have to!

Structured content simply means writing content in a way that AI systems can clearly interpret.

Which really just means good writing.

I explain this more in my recent blog on VeracityAgency.com, but here are five quick principles:

1️⃣ Purpose: Each page on your website should focus on one clear topic, and the title of the page should reinforce that topic.

2️⃣ Headings: Headings should clearly state what the section explains. Instead of something vague like “Our Approach,” Veracity would write: “Our Approach to Generative Engine Optimization Driven By Public Relations.”

3️⃣ Definitions: Define industry or insider terms so readers — and AI systems — understand what they mean.

4️⃣ Independence: Each section of a page should make sense on its own. AI systems extract a portion of a page, not the entire page.

5️⃣ Originality: Avoid repeating the same language across pages. Reinforce ideas, but vary the wording. Duplicate content has long been a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) issue, and the same principle applies in Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).

No one connects culture to marketing quite like Emmy Luciano.

As she celebrates 10 years at Logical Position — a fast-growing Inc. 500 digital agency — it’s easy to see why. She started there as a recruiter, helping build a team-first culture that shaped employee morale and the overall experience.

Now leading marketing and branding at LP, she brings that same instinct into how the company shows up externally.

We're lucky to have partnered with Emmy for years on PR and thought leadership, and that connection — from internal culture to external visibility — helps us in so many ways.

While her Portland Trail Blazers dance days are behind her, she’s still teaching dance when she’s not leading at LP.

Structured content sounds technical. It’s mostly just good writing.

There are three main pillars to Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) — which is how brands show up in AI answer engines.

Authority: The PR stuff: external mentions, credible sources and backlinks.

Relevance: Making sure your content aligns with the topics people are asking about.

Structure: How your onsite content is written so AI systems can interpret it.

In my latest blog post, I focus on structure, or what you may have heard called “structured content.”

The best way I can explain structured content is by simply thinking of it as good writing.

For AI systems to be able to find, interpret and surface your content, ideas must be written clearly and logically so machines can understand them— they are crawling huge amounts of information and trying to surface the most useful ideas.

In my next video I’ll share five tips for creating structured content.

If you don’t want to wait, the full breakdown is in my recent blog post: https://www.veracityagency.com/public-relations/structured-content-shapes-ai-answers/

Spoiler: there’s not much mystery to it. It’s mostly just good writing.

This morning’s Elevate Women Summit, by the , was motivating and inspiring.

We heard all about ECONorthwest’s State of Working Women report. In summary: “Women's Workforce participation has increased meaningfully over the past decade, yet persistent disparities in earnings and leadership representation show that participation alone doesn't guarantee economic security or advancement…” Check out the report for key takeaways.

Thank you Libby & from TenBridge Partners for a wonderful morning!

ICYMI: Wire releases can’t be your entire generative engine optimization (GEO) strategy. But if you’re going to use them, here’s how to make them count.

• Announce genuinely new information
• Be explicit about what your company actually does
• Reinforce terminology already established on your website
• Put key information early
• Direct readers (and crawlers) back to your primary website pages

None of this is revolutionary. Most experienced PR professionals are already doing it.

The hard part isn’t sending the release. The hard part is earning authoritative media coverage and maintaining consistent messaging over time.

Consistency across owned content and public mentions is what reinforces SEO, GEO and overall visibility.

The full breakdown is in the blog. Link below.
