PWA’s Creative Careers Summer Mentorship wrapped up last Thursday with a talented cohort of high school students interested in pursuing a career in the creative industry! Throughout the week, the students visited various creative design and ad agencies across Portland.✨

Through pitching creative marketing campaigns, participating in Q&A panels with industry leaders, and networking with creative professionals, students gained valuable insights and inspiration about what a career in the creative industry could look like.📸🎨

“This program has been so fun and engaging! I feel more certain about what I want to do in my future – I am so thankful for this opportunity,” said a Reynolds High School student.

Our 2nd annual Construction Mentor Program wrapped a couple weeks ago with a strong cohort of high school students interested in electrical and the trades!💡

Through hands-on activities, site tours, career-skills building, and networking with construction professionals, students were able to get an inside look on what a career in the industry would look like. 👷🏾‍♀️🔨

"I loved this program," one student said, "I lived learning about different jobs and what people do."

This June, an incredible group of female and gender-expansive students came together at Parkrose Middle School and built job readiness skills, explored new opportunities, and connect with professionals from across our community.

"I felt like a new person,” shared one student participant, “I feel like I opened new ideas, and everyone was so nice!"
