What fun!

The past two weeks we had past grads come in and stay the week with us for some refresher training (and fun!). We went paddle boarding, worked on off leash skills, lots of bike rides, patio skills, etc. At the end of the week the owners came and did a group session to work their dogs around more distractions and refresh their training and handling skills too!
Keep an eye out for future camp week opportunities I hope to host these weeks once every 3-6 months.

Another day another grad! So proud of little Zadie and the confidence that she has grown in the past two weeks on her puppy program. This girl lived her first four months of life never leaving the apartment she was born in, understandably the world was big and scary when she left. She now has extremely devoted owners who wanted to make sure she got off on the right foot. They started the It’s Puppy Stuff course day 1 and sent her to training with us at our earliest available to focus on building a strong foundation of communication and confidence. See you in a couple months for your grown up program girly! ✨

Rascal Training is hiring a weekend morning dog walker/kennel tech. Friday - Monday hours, about 25 hours on an average week. This is an entry level part time position to start, perfect for someone in school or someone who would like to get their foot in the door with training dogs. You should apply if you like being outside, are excited about walking 5-10 miles a day in any weather, are willing to clean up after dogs, you like to work hard, and of course, love dogs! You must be able and willing to be standing and walking for your entire shift, work well alone and as part of a small team, be open to balance training tools and methodologies, and have reliable transportation.

This position could grow into a full-time dog trainer position for the right candidate who shows initiative and drive.

Ideally you are also willing to pick up fill in shifts occasionally at our sister biz, Mother Pupper Doggy Daycare, in Portland.

Previous dog handling experience is not necessary but being honorable, trustworthy, kind, hardworking, reliable and teachable are. We are in the business of making dog owners happy, customer service skills are essential.

The shifts we have available are weekend shifts, with the ability to add a few weekday shifts as well, beginning at 7am. Length of shifts can vary depending on time of year. We are based in Woodland, WA about 30 minutes outside of Portland.

Sick Time/Flex PTO/Continued Education Reimbursement/Free Boarding for Staff Dogs. Pay DOE

Cutest siblings alert 🚨 Pete and Juni enjoyed an off property hike to test all their new skills and manners on and off leash in new environments and with new distractions. They both did amazing, so excited for all the new adventures they will get to safely participate in back home with their family!

I’ve really enjoyed being ‘snowed in’ over the weekend. The dogs are getting a crazy amount of socials and training, and are super fulfilled by the end of every day plus I’m getting some extra time in with my personal pack 💖

Arleigh went on a big field trip to downtown Portland on Christmas Eve to work on all of his skills in a very distracting environment! He is doing great!
