Christina Kortum's Ravenous Studios provides makeup, FX Makeup, Digital FX, props and much more for
Christina Kortum has been working in the independent film industry in Portland, OR for several years as both a beauty and makeup effects artist, specializing in prosthetics that hold up under the scrutiny of HD. As her skills grew and the requests for characters became more elaborate, it became apparent that there was a need for a local facility able to do larger scale work. Ravenous Studios has officially opened it's doors in NE Portland. Christina has been pulling together talent and equipment to create a shop that could make the dreams and monsters of local filmmakers come to life. By providing SFX makeup and prosthetics, beauty makeup, prop creation, animatronics, digital FX, and art department services Christina has brought together a variety of talented artists from different specialties.

Excited to share that VIA NEGATIVA is an Official Selection of the 2026 Tribeca Festival (). Join us in New York City June 3–14. . Dept head brought me on for a few days and I got to meet some amazing people….so thanks Maggie! And congrats to the amazing director and wonderful cast and crew.

One of my earliest films I was able to work with Robert Carradine. It’s was shot in Louisiana and it was a challenging shoot from the get go with budget changes, crew walkout, and communication issues. Honestly, I was just trying to survive and do a good job under incredible amount of stress. He was kind to me, and very professional even when he was very frustrated with the situation on set…..and schooled others that it was their job to set a good example when they knew better. He could be a tough read but his actions and words had a lasting impact on me. I’m sorry to hear he’s gone. RIP.
