We're open regular hours for Labor Day weekend! Come visit your favorite worker-owned cooperative to celebrate - we've got Fall flavors on special with pumpkin curry, collard greens mallum, deviled potatoes, and cucumber sambol ❤️💛

Good morning! We're OPEN at 10 AM, but wanted to let y'all know that a Ford F-150 plowed through our streetside seating structure late last night. 😩

We have plenty of other seating and we don't plan to leave it looking like this for long. The timing is unfortunate though. Holiday weekends like Labor Day are some of the couple dozen days each year where the extra seating is useful.

We have insurance that should cover this with a $1,000 deductible. A neighbor left a note that they have video of the truck driving away (plus the truck left behind parts with barcodes that confirm the make/model), so maybe even the driver's insurance will end up covering it.

[Before anyone asks, no we won't be collecting donations or anything like that. We've made it through much bigger challenges! Come grab some food if you'd like, otherwise please direct your money toward folks and organizations that really need it]

Our rice & curry specials for the weekend are 💯 - taro root curry, tempered carrots, mung bean mallum, and a rare appearance for one of our favorites, gotukola sambol (pennywort salad). A perfect balance of flavors! and dare we say, better than any burger 😁

🍔🚨 BURGER WEEK starts tomorrow (Monday)! Things to know:

1. MONDAY ONLY - $2 off all beer with purchase of any food! All day!🍻

2. We're serving the DEVILED BURGER this year, featuring our "famous" deviled pork, an impossible patty, curry leaf ranch, pickled banana peps, tomato, and onion. It's messy and really, really delicious. 👹

3. We have a gluten-free option! Just sub the bun for $2. 👍

4. Fries and onion rings are $4 to add. 🍟

5. Full menu available all week. Burgers go great with rice & curry! 😆

6. Even with a $10 burger, we still don't take tips. Order more food and drinks to support the cooperative! Come back in the winter! ❄️

The weekend last year was very busy, so we encourage you to come earlier in the week! Cheap beer on Monday! 🍻🌞

If stores can have Halloween stuff out, we can serve pumpkin curry! This is the smoky version made with toasted coconut (wattakka kalu pol), so come breathe some clean air on our patio while we keep the smokiness on your plate 🌞🎃

To celebrate, we're running a special we haven't done before: TARO LEAF CURRY! While it is DELICIOUS, It's not much to look at, so it's paired with vibrant beetroot mallum, tempered long beans, and daikon radish sambol ♥️💛

EXCITING NEWS: We're nominated in 's Best of Portland awards to defend our crown as Best South Asian Food, plus we're nominated for Best Vegan Restaurant! Thanks to everyone who nominated us. ♥️💛

LESS COOL NEWS: While they all make great food, not a single one of our fellow nominees are South Asian restaurants! Does that mean we win by default? We contacted WW to ask "what's up? last year we were up against other South Asian spots!" and they blamed Portlanders for their poor geography knowledge when nominating, and claimed they have zero editorial control. You wont see a burger place nominated for best pizza, but when it comes to food from places where brown people live, the message is "it's all the same!" Great job , maybe add a Best Southeast Asian Food category instead of this weirdness?

OH AND ALSO, is not a vegan restaurant - in a town with dozens of vegan restaurants, WHY would you allow a non-vegan spot to be nominated for Best Vegan Restaurant? They're perfectly fine in the Best Vegetarian category. Sigh.

Anyway, vote for us for Best South Asian Restaurant because we're the only one nominated? And just vote for any of the 4 vegan restaurants for Best Vegan Restaurant because they all make tasty food and these awards have proven to be very silly.
