PDX CONTEMPORARY ART

It was such a great turnout for the talk between Victoria and Claire Dederer, journalist, author, and critic. Thank you to all of you who showed up on this busy night and Portland, Oregon, especially the intrepid Seattleites who were undeterred by the closing of I5. The talk was early, giving people time to go onto PICA's TBA.
Some stayed on for pizza and drinks and had great conversations and fun surrounded by Haven's art. Sam called for 3 minutes of silence so we could enjoy the sound installation.
 It seems that there's no agreement that Victoria Haven's show is pivotal and immersive and wonderful. Haven managed to create a cohesive exhibition, employing a wide variety of materials; graphite, bronze, ink, paint and sound. "THE HEROINES" will be up through September 26th.

Getting ready First Thursday installing Mixed Flock: 30 years our 30th anniversary summer group show.
Many of the artists will be in the gallery 5-7 pm July 2nd. So many terrific new works to see!
