I didn’t make it to the top 5 of 59 applicants for the Clackamas County Board of Commissioners seat. That was the decision of the 4 sitting board members who had just been embroiled in conflict among the last two people elected to that seat and the third time there has been turn over in less than 10 years. It’s during a budget crisis and uncertainty over federal funding. They needed to select the applicants they did and I respect that.
I’m so grateful for everyone who stepped up to email in a support letter, read these posts and be there for each other. I plan to go back to being more involved in my local community like I have been over the years.
I have time to focus on what I’m truly passionate about and called to do, which could have been as a commissioner and now, is destined to do right by my father and this community. Creating pathways to recovery for all, regardless of their diagnosis. Join me: https://lawsoncenter.com

Support letter #27! I’d love to get 3 more before the Board of Commissioners meeting tomorrow morning. Can you help? I have a template and it only takes a few minutes.
This morning I had the pleasure of meeting with two hard working individuals who showed up to the community conversation at LJ's Cafe. They work for a local non profit that does street outreach and provides much needed support to people in our community struggling with addiction and houselessness. It was an honor to hear their perspective on how essential County government and local law enforcement partnerships to provide services that meet folks where they are at, offer peer support and get people connected to services when they are ready.
Reminder: I’ll be at LJ's Cafe tomorrow 4/23, 8-9am for a community conversation- what do I need to know about County government? Open to all in Clackamas County who may have questions or concerns regarding the selection process for the open seat in the Board of Commissioners. Come support a local business, sip on some coffee and talk amongst fellow residents. I’ll be at the Board meeting 4/24 when they deliberate on the top 5 of 59 applicants for the open seat. Would love to share any insights gained from tomorrow dialogue during public comment at the 4/24 meeting. See you there!
