Community Vision

Not all disabilities look the same, and not all of them are visible. Disability includes physical conditions, chronic illness, cognitive differences, sensory impairments, mental health, and more. Up to 80% of people with disabilities have conditions that are not immediately apparent to others. Understanding that is an important step toward building communities, and homes, that work for everyone.

Did you know that 15% of Oregonians live with a disability? That is more than 635,000 of our neighbors, coworkers, friends, and family members. People with disabilities are part of every community across this state. This fall, follow along as we break down the barriers they face and what change can look like.

Ben and his support staff Sandy took a little trip to Lincoln City and made the most of every moment. From posing with some interesting sculptures, to beach walks, to rocking on the balcony and soaking in the ocean air, it looks like Ben had a proper coastal getaway. 🌊

Fresh air, open fields, and one curious taste tester. Matt visited a local urban farm this summer and made the most of every moment.

From the city to the rodeo, Out and About Summer continues! Steve got the full experience at a local rodeo, including saddling up and posing with a couple of four legged friends. We love seeing our folks out making memories like this one. 🤠

The Disability Joy Block Party brought together the most amazing community of people for a day of dancing, food, connection, and pure joy. Thank you to everyone who came out and showed up for our community!

A lifelong sports fan, Greg recently headed out to McMinnville with his support staff to explore the area and catch a Linfield Wildcats softball game. A day out of the house and live sports is a great way to spend a summer afternoon! We hope this is just the first of many live sports outings for Greg this summer.
