Caring for the whole community since 2009 Greater Portland Health is one of nineteen Federally Qualified Health Centers in Maine.
Greater Portland Health's mission is to provide high-quality, patient-centered healthcare that is accessible, affordable, and culturally sensitive. We provide a multitude of services including primary care, dental care, mental health care, chronic disease management, healthcare support, and counseling & education. We offer a discounted/sliding fee schedule based on family size and income. Greater Portland Health will never deny access to services for the following reasons:
- Because an individual is unable to pay for health care services.
- Because payment for those services would be made under Medicare, Medicaid, or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
- Because of an individual’s race, color, s*x, age, national origin, disability, religion, gender identity or s*xual orientation. We serve the Greater Portland community through our 16 health centers. Our vision is a healthy community in which everyone has access to integrated, culturally-inclusive, affordable, and high-quality health care services promoting physical and emotional wellness. Last week marked the four-year anniversary of our Recuperative Care Program! Based at 934 Congress Street, this program provides a safe place for individuals experiencing homelessness or unstable housing to recover after surgery or illness. We are so grateful for our partners, Preble Street and MaineHealth Maine Medical Center who help make this program possible. Oh... and how could we forget the flourishing garden our incredible patients have created?!🌻

We're excited to welcome another group from Northeastern University's post-baccalaureate, pre-clinical program. Joining our team as two medical assistants and one clinical community health worker, they'll help support patients and strengthen the care we provide across our health centers. We're thrilled to have them this year!

To celebrate Population Focus Day, our Bayside staff are distributing bags filled with sunscreen, hydration packets, SPF lip balm, body wipes, and other items to keep our patients safe in the heat. GPH is dedicated to supporting all of our patients, especially those who might need an extra hand 💙
