Confined 24/7 in a 20x7-foot shipping container with minimal ventilation, the detainees are only allowed out for bathroom breaks while shackled and escorted by DHS officers. A pickup truck idles outside the container around the clock, raising concerns about exhaust exposure. The migrants were diverted to Camp Lemonnier after a federal judge blocked their deportation to Sudan. 06/02 - 6:45PM EDT — The U.S. just confirmed that 8 migrants remain in DHS custody on Naval Base (Camp Lemonnier) in Djibouti, as ordered by the court. DHS says they set up a private interview room with Microsoft Teams access so the individuals can speak with their lawyers. A satellite phone is also available for their use. This follows a May 21 court order requiring status updates.
