Bridge Meadows
We create & inspire intergenerational communities for the well-being of foster families & elders.
Bridge Meadows is a unique multi-generational community located in the Portsmouth neighborhood of North Portland where foster youth, adoptive parents and low-income elders - those over 55 - find a true home built with love and the shared vision of a better tomorrow. Children move from the instability of foster care placements to permanent homes and families where they find the stability, caring co

To honor Freedom Day and give our team space to celebrate, reflect, and engage with their communities, our offices are closed today, June 19th.
We encourage everyone to use this day to listen, learn, and support Black-owned businesses and community organizations.
If youโre in the area, we invite you to visit our booth at the Juneteenth Celebration: A Road To Economic Freedom WA State Event!
At long last, our community's Teen Room is officially open! We marked the day with a fun ribbon cutting and grand opening party for all.
With the help of volunteers from Beaverton Christian Church, furniture donations from Vantage Home Builders, Inc., and the valuable input from our teens, we co-created a dedicated space where the they can relax, study and socialize. ๐ฎ๐
The importance of providing age-appropriate like the Teen Room are critical for mental well-being, as they reduce loneliness and build a sense of belonging among peers.

On June 1, we celebrate the Global Day of Parents, a day established by the United Nations and UNICEF in 2012 to honor parents and caregivers around the world for their lifelong commitment to children and their role in nurturing the next generation.
Whether you are an adoptive parent, a foster parent, a grandparent raising grandchildren, a kinship caregiver stepping up for a niece, nephew, or sibling, or an elder neighbor who mentors, encourages, and loves the children of our communities, thank you! We celebrate you today and every day.
Bridge Meadows' communities are built on the vision that every child has a home and family, every parent has the resources to thrive, and every elder is cherished. โค๏ธ๐๐
We honor and appreciate every parent in our , and communities, and to every person helping children on their journey toward healing and permanency.
This year's theme is "Together for Parents." Check out the United Nations' โBecoming a Parentโ video series to discover the parenting journeys of caregivers from around the world: https://youtu.be/4wU9bwLtGxQ?si=e8bFNjZY_PH18uYd

A Friday shout-out to our CEO, Derenda Schubert for her participation in the American Heart Association - Oregon & SW Washingtonโs powerful panel discussion, "Caretaking: Women, Mothers and the Care Continuum."
Moderated by Diana Cruz, Chief Finance and Strategy Officer at CareOregon, Derenda also joined Peggy Maguire, President and Board Chair of Cambia Health Solutions Foundation for a robust and deeply personal conversation about caretaking as both a universal and public health issue, as it touches every family, community, and generation. The discussion created the space for honest dialogue and meaningful perspectives.
At Bridge Meadows, our intergenerational community model is built on the belief that caring for one another across generations strengthens individuals, families, and neighborhoods. Events like this remind us why that work matters, and why amplifying these conversations at a public health level is so important.
Thank you to the American Heart Association of Oregon & SW Washington for bringing together these voices, and for centering the experiences of women and mothers in the care continuum.
