Can I say something?" Every head turned.
My heart sank.
"Your Honor… can I show you something that Mom doesn't know about?
Please?" The judge looked at Chloe for a long moment.

That whatever you show or say must be the truth?" "Yes, sir," she replied.
Her voice trembled.
He nodded slowly.

Bring it here." Chloe went to the front, unzipped her backpack, and took out a tablet with a cracked corner.
