Chloe Benjamin will be at Ritual Dyes on Thursday of Sacred Sheep weekend! Ritual Dyes, Chloe Benjamin, and Sari Nordlund have teamed up to celebrate the release of Chloe’s newest book, Under Story. As a knitter herself, Chloe has woven fiber arts into her newest release. Ritual Dyes dyed up some yarn inspired by the story, and Sari has designed two stunning patterns to go along with them. There’s a KAL that started this week to knit along with your reading journey. You can find more information for the KAL here!

To celebrate Under Story and the end of the KAL, Chloe is coming to the Ritual Dyes shop for a reading, signing, and meet up. On Thursday, November 5th from 5-7pm, join us in the Ritual Dyes classroom space to hear Chloe read an excerpt of *Under Story*, meet other makers, peruse yarn, and snag a photo of your completed project. We’re going to have some snacks and refreshments as well as a special photo booth to take some pictures for your completed projects.

This will be a ticketed event! The cost of your ticket covers your copy of *Under Story*, and you will have the opportunity to have it signed by Chloe at the event. If you already have your book, don’t worry - we’ll have a ticket option for you as well. **Tickets will be on sale 10am September 18th**. Set those reminders! There will be a very limited amount of tickets available, so make sure to be ready. We wanted to give you all a little heads up so you can plug it into your Sacred Sheep plans.

The Sacred Sheep 2026 Make-A-Long starts TODAY!

If you haven’t heard, we’re celebrating Sacred Sheep and our lovely ovine friends with a make-a-long that runs from today until the start of the festival, November 6th. You can find all the deets in our last post!

Today we wanted to take a moment to appreciate the beautiful yarn recommended by our pattern designers.

In the Bellwether by Caitlin Hunter , Caitlin uses Ritual Dyes | Rachel Bratcher Marona paired with ōSHen Knits & Fibres Yarn Shop oSHēn Bubbles DK. The boucle makes for the cutest little wooly sheep! In the Sheep & Roses by Wanitta - Crochet Pattern Designer , Wanitta pairs Marona with Priestess, Ritual Dyes’ superwash merino DK. This hand-dyed base adds an extra pop of color and depth to the cozy cardi.

Make your sweater out of these yarns, or choose your own! A few of the Sacred Sheep 2026 vendors have put together kits as well, so keep and eye out for those. There are so many different directions you can go for these patterns - we can’t wait to see what you make :)

🐑 SACRED SHEEP MAKE-A-LONG 🐑

The Sacred Sheep 2026 Make-A-Long is coming up quick!! Patterns come out TODAY, August 10th. This year, designers Wanitta Belleh of Wanitta - Crochet Pattern Designer and Caitlin Hunter of Caitlin Hunter have put together two stunning designs!! They both feature the Ritual Dyes Marona base, a squishy DK cormo.

The MAL kicks off on August 14th and runs to November 6th. Chat about your WIPs on Ravelry, share on Instagram, and show us your projects! We’d love to see what color combinations you come up with for these stunning designs.

The rules are simple!

- Knit the Bellwether by Caitlin Hunter and/or crochet the Sheep & Roses Cardigan by Wanitta Belleh
- Post to Instagram using and/or to the FO Ravelry Thread

Kits for the Bellwether and Sheep & Roses are available now through Ritual Dyes | Rachel Bratcher !

The Bellwether by Caitlin Hunter features the cutest parade of sheep with geometric colorwork. For her sample, she used Marona in Hemlock and ōSHen Knits & Fibres’ Bubbles DK in Coral for extra fluffy sheep. This pattern has two sleeve options - pick between short balloon sleeves with additional colorwork at the hem, or keep it simple with classic short sleeves!

The Sheep & Roses cardigan by Wanitta Belleh is a plush, textured cardi with the cutest rose patch pockets. For her sample, Wanitta used Marona in Chestnut and Priestess in Haystack Rock. The contrast on the hems and pockets are a great way to introduce fun pops of color, or you can get scrappy with it and use some of your minis and leftovers!

Elspeth Vance is back at Sacred Sheep this year! She has a wonderful filet crochet class for us this time. We’ve been obsessed with filet crochet recently so we were so excited to add this class to the Sacred Sheep workshop schedule. This class will be held on Friday, November 6th, from 11:30am - 1:30pm at the Redd on Salmon.

In this advanced-beginning crochet class you will level up your crochet skills! “Filet,” meaning *net* in French, is a lace making technique wherein a gridded net is constructed and open cells are filled in to create simple, monochromatic designs. In this workshop you will learn the basics of filet crochet and construction techniques. Students will learn to read and work from a chart to create a filet swatch and will provided instruction to make their swatches into a small mesh bag!

Elspeth Vance is a fiber artist and textile designer living and working in Portland, OR. Under the umbrella of her brand, Noctiluca, she knits one-of-a-kind garments and home goods by hand on two needles. Her designs investigate various textile structures and seek to uncover their commonalities; how is weaving like knitting? Or knot tying like weaving? These explorations have led her to reinterpret historic weave drafts into charted knitting patterns, a delightful marriage of her most beloved textile practices.
