Holly and Eem here for ! Eem is at the vet today, along with Casper and Madrone for check ups. They are all doing pretty well, so hopefully it's an easy day.

That said, even routine exams cost money, and three rechecks at $60 each plus a med refill will run us around $200 today. Our medical fund is already tapped out with a deficit of $1144. Can you help us close that gap and cover today's visits? Every little bit helps!

We are still deep deep in the hole after emergency visits and surgery last week, and we are approaching time to submit another batch of PCR tests. Any and all donations are so appreciated!

Whisper is one of the many Seaside rats stuck in quarantine until we can ensure the SDAV is truly gone from our home. She is a shy, but very sweet girl who is here with her four daughters.

Whisper and her girls would love to have a home or their own, and in order to do that we need to submit another batch of PCR tests. Each test is $25 and requires overnight shipping, which is about $50. The more swabs we can submit, the more confident we can be in getting accurate results, which will allow us to lift the quarantine faster.

Our medical fund is currently well below zero after many vet visits, emergency visits, and surgeries within the last couple weeks, and we are now due to send in a new batch of swabs for PCR testing. We need to raise around $2000 to cover those recent expenses and the next round of testing. If you can help us get there, we appreciate it so, so much, and rats like Whisper and her kiddos can move one step closer to a loving and permanent home of their own.

Acacia had her mass removal today! She had two lipoma/liposarcomas removed, one from each flank. She did very well for her procedure and she is back home for rest and recovery. We are so amazed at how far she has come during her time here. She's gone from a sickly, scraggly malnourished rat on the brink of death due to a golf-ball-sized abscessed o***y and pyometra to a beautiful, sassy, and vibrant little soul. Along the way she dealt with SDAV and pancreatitis, but she is a fighter, and she is finally living the life she always deserved.

Our vet bills today totaled over $1400 between Acacia's multiple masses and Dottie's emergency visit and diagnostics. Our medical fund was already in the negative by $500. Some kind donors today helped us cover over $350 of expenses, but we still need to cover the other $1550. Every little bit goes directly to medical care.

Fan favorite Dottie is at the vet for an emergency appointment today. She's a sweet senior with persistent respiratory disease that has worsened in the past few weeks. Her meds have been adjusted to compensate, but the symptoms have persisted, and even more concerning, she has developed some weakness and seems disoriented.

In addition to Dottie's exam, Acacia is at the vet today for her mass removal. She has a larger lump on her left flank near her thigh, and now a smaller mass has popped up as well.

Our medical fund is currently sitting at -$500, and today's visits will likely set us back by at least another $1000. If you can spare a little, please consider donating to help us cover our expenses. We could really use the help.
