Jess isn’t just our incredible Operations Specialist (aka the glue that keeps Fighting Pretty running smoothly)- she’s also a bad*ss leukemia survivor. 💪✨

Her story reminds us that leukemia has many faces, and behind every diagnosis is someone full of strength, courage, and beauty. Jess embodies what it means to Fight Pretty: showing up with grit, grace, and a spark that can’t be dimmed. 🌸

✨ Benefit Bingo — September 10
Join us at Hangar 76 in Oceanside, CA from 5:30–7:30 PM for a night of bingo, food, drinks, and giving back! Proceeds from bingo card sales will benefit Fighting Pretty and help us continue supporting people impacted by cancer.

💻 Fighting Pretty Conversations — September 16
Join us virtually from 5:30–6:30 PM PT for an important conversation with Thandi Montgomery about “The Deadly Cost of People Pleasing.”

Thyroid cancer is one of the fastest-growing cancer diagnoses- and it disproportionately affects young women in their 20s–40s. That’s why it’s so important to pay attention, listen to your body, and know the signs.

Here’s what makes thyroid cancer unique:
- A lump in the neck or a change in your voice can be the first clue- sometimes it’s the only symptom.
- It disproportionately affects young women, often in their 20s–40s.
- Survivors who undergo thyroid removal must take thyroid hormone replacement every day for life.
- It’s often called the “good cancer,” but survivors know there’s nothing “good” about cancer. Lifelong follow-ups, body changes, and mental health challenges are very real.

💜💙💖 The awareness colors for thyroid cancer are teal, pink, and blue- each symbolizing the fight, the community, and the hope for healing. Our Teal Gloves of Strength are a small but mighty way to honor someone fighting thyroid cancer (or ovarian and cervical cancer too). They’re a reminder to keep fighting, to feel strong, and to never give up.
