Handbuilding: all the clay fun, no wheel required đâ
â
Handbuilding is one of the most versatile ways to work with clay. Using your hands, a few siple tools, and techniques like pinching, coiling, slab building, sculpting, carving, and more, you can make everything from functional pottery to elaborate sculptures and wonderfully weird little creatures. Itâs tactile, creative, and gives you SO much freedom to follow your own ideas.â
â
This fall, we have three handbuilding classes with three awesome instructors, depending on what kind of clay adventure youâre looking for:â
â
đš 5-Week Clay Creatures with Katya Reinhard Katya Reinhardâ
Wednesdays, 10:30amâ12:30pmâ
A playful introduction to sculptural handbuilding centered around creating creatures, characters, and forms from your imagination. Katya brings a fun, creative approach that makes this a great place to loosen up, experiment, and see where the clay takes you.â
â
đş 10-Week Handbuilding with Kiki Sieger â
Thursdays, 6:30â9pmâ
Our mixed-level option! Learn and build on core techniques like pinch, coil, and slab construction while exploring surface, form, glazing, and your own creative ideas. Kiki is patient, thoughtful, and wonderful at meeting students where theyâre at, whether youâre brand new to clay or ready to expand your skills.â
â
⨠10-Week Intermediate Handbuilding with Rin Noelleâ
Thursdays, 10:30amâ1pmâ Bang Bang Crafts

This class gives you more room to develop your own projects and artistic voice, with advanced demos, individual guidance, group critiques, and exploration of more complex forms, surfaces, and ideas. Rin brings years of handbuilding and sculptural experience and loves helping students figure out not just how to make something, but what they want their work to become.â
