Sorry I haven’t been more present on here—this years been a doozy and honestly the more dumb s**t I see humans doing (what happened to “when you know better do better”?) the more I need to step away. Luckily the brick and mortar shop exists as a third space of sorts, not necessarily for me but for you all and that feels really important to cultivate right now. Please also keep in mind that I’m at work, I’m usually not available for social hangs when you come by the shop but what I am trying to do is to create a place for connections between community members who might not already have met—people with common interests who want to work together or craft together or just sit in silence together. Come pat the dogs and get out into the world a little bit…that’s what this place was made for. Our brick and mortar shop hours are 9am-3pm from Friday through Monday. Nate is rad. He probably doesn’t remember it but the owner of Pip’s Original donuts was so kind and supportive of my business when I moved here—not just
supportive by buying a shirt but also by posting a picture in it. The “community not competition” vibe he extols also made me feel seen. We live in a world where so many deeply insecure people find what others are doing a threat to their own businesses, but Nate echoed my own feelings: that we’re better off together and in support of one another. Scarcity is a lie we’re sold over and over again but the truth is we are stronger together and that goes doubly for small
businesses. Thank you for being an example and also for all of those amazing lil’ donuts.
