From one greenhouse, Cornell Farm has grown to 13 and staff to 20 or more.

Whether it's gorgeous spring bulbs, lush summer flowers, fiery autumn leaves, or tough winter blooms, Cornell Farm has been serving the Portland area with home-grown plants, organic supplies, and planet-friendly advice for 39 years. On Mother's Day 1987, founders Deby and husband Ed, opened a retail stand (The Patio) selling geraniums, fuchsia hanging baskets and large buckets of ripe cherry tomat

Nobody had to convince me to have brunch at a nursery in a 100-year-old farmhouse. Jake got the tofu hash, while I upgraded my ham Benedict to include avocado (bc I’m a millennial, duh). Does Arizona have any brunch spots where they could also sell us a fern (or rather, a cactus)? Because I’d be first in line.

If you're a dog (or a dog lover), Dog-ust is your season. Meet our second roundup of Dog Days of Summer entries.

First, we have a serious plant girlie — Milka! She's a big fan of sniffing flowers and shrubs. Her mom tells us that Milka watches her garden with an uncanny air of knowledge and judgement, like she has her own opinions on proper plant care!

Next, we have Pippa! She loves a walk to Cornell Farm and her favorite part is slurping up a "pup cup" from .Cafe šŸ¦

Finally, meet rescue Bichon Frise/Havanese Cookie! This was her first visit to Cornell Farm and she was delighted to meet the chickens, smell the flowers, and explore the new pet section in our gift shop.

Want to see your pup on our Instagram? Visit Cornell Farm (always dog-friendly!) and submit to the Dog Days of Summer Photo Contest!

The first batch of Dog Days of Summer entries are here — and, BOY, is it a great harvest this year!

First up, we have 's 11-year-old rescue pitbull, Cinnamon! She loves sunbathing, chasing balls, and going on adventures.

Then, meet one of our favorite regulars — 's Little Joe, a 16-year-old Shih Tzu! Right at home among the flowers šŸ’

Finally, the inseparable Winnie and Bella. When owner lived next door to the Farm, she visited on every walk and it became one of the dogs' favorites places. Sadly, Bella recently passed away, but her family shared their gratitude for many joyful memories of visiting the chickens and sniffing around the plants. That's going to make more than a few of our team members misty-eyed, so thank YOU for the privilege of knowing your pups and hosting fond memories. Rest easy, sweet girl — and we're sending lots of love to Winnie 🐾

Thank you all so much for sharing your photos — and the stories behind them! Dog Days of Summer runs throughout the month of August and we have some fun prizes this year to fuel your canine adventures, but watching familiar faces and wagging tails flood our inbox is always the best part.

Take a tour of our Kitchen Garden's demo beds with Lincoln! This area is a labor of love. This year, we're growing a Three Sisters bed, a salsa garden, a tomato dry farming experiment, and lots of fruit trees. In the next few weeks, we'll be adding raddichio and other cool-season veggies to the mix 🄬

Our team is always happy to answer questions and help brainstorm ideas for your next garden project. Plus, if growing your own fruit sounds like a dream come true, come to Lincoln's 'Abundant Harvests: Pruning Your Backyard Orchard' event this Sunday, 8/2 at noon šŸŽ
