Basic Space Gallery

Basic Space Gallery is a Fine Art Gallery located in the heart of Portland's First Thursday Art walk, surrounded by several well known galleries in the art scene. The gallery has been in operation since late 2013 by two artists, Christopher Roberts and Kenneth Saylor. Their desire to spotlight emerging artists whose voices are deeply felt but rarely showcased in the community is evidence of their irretrievable love of art, this city, and the people who call it home. With their new location, they see a future in rewriting how professional galleries are perceived in the neighborhood. They are constantly evolving and seeking new ways to leave a lasting impression in the minds of their clients. Artists are chosen for their ability to story tell through visual references and for their spiritual connection to the work they make. In 2017, they landed an opportunity to relocate to their current location of 327 NW 9th Ave and to expand their venue for upcoming charitable shows, larger exhibitions and events.
