Something we have been building all year is almost here.

Music in Life is a brand new lesson series from Music Workshop launching this fall and it is unlike anything we have created before. Developed with three leading advisors in music science, it explores the profound ways music shapes who we are: how it affects our brains, moves our bodies, stirs our emotions, and connects us to one another.

The first lesson drops soon. It is an overview of the overarching concepts - a big picture look at the science of music and life that will change how your students think about the music they hear every day.

This is music education for the whole human being. We cannot wait to share it.

Music Workshop Spotlight: meet the advisors behind Music in Life.

Our upcoming lesson series on how music shapes our brains, bodies, and emotions is built on some serious expertise. We are proud to introduce the advisors guiding Music in Life:

Dr. Michael Spitzer, Professor of Music at the University of Liverpool, author of The Musical Human, and musicologist whose work explores music across human history.

Dr. Suzanne Hanser, founding chair of the Music Therapy Department at Berklee College of Music and a leading voice in the science of music and wellbeing.

Dr. Zachary Wallmark, researcher at the University of Oregon whose work explores how music affects the brain and human connection.

Our 2025–26 Annual Report is here!

This year, teachers brought Music Workshop into 20,000+ schools, reaching more than 8 million students in 122 countries. Every lesson was 100% free, and 65% of adopting U.S. schools are Title I.

We read every one of the 7,800+ feedback forms teachers sent us, and their ideas became new lessons, new peer-to-peer videos, and a brand-new Classroom Management course. Our Inspire BASh also became our most successful fundraiser ever, raising over $130,000 to keep it all free.

Next year, we're creating Music in Life, a five-lesson series exploring how music shapes the brain, emotions, body, and human connection.
