EFS provides courses, books and planners to support the executive functions of the brain.

The Seeing My Timeยฎ program takes an innovative, brain-based approach to teaching the executive function skills of time management, planning and organization. We offer classes for individuals, families, professionals and teachers to use our curriculum and planners. As participants are led through the Seeing My Time workbook, they start to understand WHY they struggle. This creates a deeper understanding of the visual tools that can effectively support their brain with planning and organizing. This reflective, hands-on process lays the foundation for sustainable long-term change.

This program provides concrete, visual time-management tools, together with hands-on exercises and reflections that build self-awareness, the key to long-term behavior change.

Just like a real air traffic controller has to juggle wind conditions, visibility, and dozens of planes at once, your executive functions are managing an enormous amount of information every single second!

During times of transition like changes in season, moving, challenges at school or work, sickness, grief - NEED I GO ON? - executive functions like planning, time management and organization can be greatly affected.

I'm happy to share that there are strategies that help during these times. I've written a blog on the topic, called What to do When Your Brain Resists: Four Ways to Get Back on Track! I hope you enjoy it.

A gentle reminder: If you are not much of an early bird, it's safe to say that mornings go will much more smoothly if you prep the night before.

That extra decision-making (what to wear? What do I need today? What shall I have for breakfast?) plus a tight timeline means you're overloading the brain in a moment when it needs extra supports, not extra stressors.

Preparing ahead relieves working memory so that you can focus on nourishing yourself and setting a calm and intentional tone for the day.

Do you prep things in advance or do you consider this "extra"? I'd love to hear.

Showering can be a sneaky time suck for those with executive function challenges. Sometimes tough to get in, but even harder to get out, especially if you or your teen are prone to being "time blind."

This waterproof analog shower clock is a fun and useful solution!

One trick I give clients is to decide what time you want to be out before you even turn the water on. Say it out loud if you have to. Then let the clock hold you to it instead of guessing.โ

Job Searching with ADHD: 7 Tips to Get and Stay Focused 09/15/2026

I had the chance to share some strategies for job searching with ADHD in this piece by Dr. Kyle Elliott - CaffeinatedKyle.com for Career Directors International, alongside Carlo Catabijan of Adhoc Therapy.

A few of the tips I talked about: getting really specific about the role you want (clarity cuts down on decision fatigue), using deadlines and visual reminders to give your brain a concrete target, and thinking carefully about when (and whether) to disclose an ADHD diagnosis to employers.

If you're navigating a job search with ADHD, hope this helps. Link below๐Ÿ‘‡

Job Searching with ADHD: 7 Tips to Get and Stay Focused Job search is challenging enough! Here are 7 tips to get and stay focused when you're job searching with ADHD. Get them now.

It's true, let that sink in for a second! Executive functions like planning, decision making, staying focused, and managing impulses are some of the most energy expensive jobs your brain does all day.

Mental fatigue is SO REAL, and often it just means your brain is running low on fuel for exactly the skills we are talking about here.

So if you feel foggy or unmotivated by midafternoon, there's usually a reason. Rest and routines that lighten the load are basic maintenance for the systems doing all that high-cost work.

What is one thing you do to recharge your brain midday? Please share! ๐Ÿง

Sometimes the best executive function tool is the simplest one!

A pencil that glides and erases cleanly removes a lot of frustration, making writing a whole lot easier and more accessible. We always have a cup of sharpened on the table in the EFS office!

Every tool we recommend gets the same test: does it make supporting your brain easier, or does it add one more step?

These ones are linked on our "Cool Tools" page. Check it out!

Danielle spent over three years building her executive function skills through Seeing My Time, and we are so proud of her!

Once she had a system built around how her brain functions, things started to truly shift in her life.

THIS is why we do the work! I'm talking about the other coaches, educators, tutors, SLPs, OTs, therapists and all other helpers of the world. It feels so good to be of help, and testimonials like this are what keep us going.

With summer fading in the rearview mirror, is anyone else feeling the need to reestablish habits that support your executive functions? ๐Ÿ™‹๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Some of my private clients have expressed this to me recently, and also that they are frustrated with themselves for feeling so frazzled.

To start, skip the blame/shame game. Name what you are feeling out loud or in your head, something like "I am feeling overwhelmed" or "I am feeling behind." Putting a label on it takes some of the power out of that feeling instead of letting it drive your day.

Once you have named it, cut to an 10,000 foot view. What matters today? What's the ONE habit that will help support my executive functions heading into the fall season? Could be an ol' reliable or a brand new one.

You got this!!
