The next rainy day could reveal more than wet pavement.
Rain can expose small fueling-site issues before they become recurring maintenance problems. Before the next downpour, check:
• Spill buckets
• Containment sumps
• Caps, lids, and seals
• Drainage and low spots
• Tank water readings and alarms
Don’t just remove the water—find the way in. Northwest Pump can help you identify water-intrusion concerns and coordinate solutions for your site.

Could cooler weather bring downtime?
A compressed air system that ran well all summer can develop moisture problems as temperatures drop. Keep these four questions on your maintenance radar:
💧 Is your dryer providing the moisture protection your system needs?
💧 Are condensate drains removing collected water?
💧 Does piping run outdoors or through unheated spaces?
💧 Are you finding water at tools or equipment?
Northwest Pump can help you identify seasonal trouble spots and find drying, filtration, and condensate-management solutions that fit your operation and budget.
Talk to our team to prepare for the cooler months ahead.

Another repair. Same problem? It may be time to take a closer look at what’s causing it.
Before deciding to repair, rebuild, or replace your pump, consider these five questions:
🔹 Is this a one-time issue—or part of a pattern?
🔹 What has this pump already cost to keep running?
🔹 Is it still meeting your process needs?
🔹 What’s the true cost of downtime?
🔹 Can you reliably get the parts you need?
The fastest fix isn’t always the most cost-effective one.
Northwest Pump’s industrial team can help identify the root cause and recommend a practical path forward based on your operation, budget, and long-term reliability.

Another repair—or time to replace? An aging fuel dispenser doesn’t automatically need to be replaced, but repeated repairs and downtime can make the decision worth revisiting.
Before making the call, weigh these five factors:
1️⃣ Repair frequency and cost: How much are service calls, parts and downtime adding up?
2️⃣ Parts availability: Can you reliably get the components you need to keep your equipment running?
3️⃣ Customer experience and revenue impact: Are slow flow, payment issues or out-of-service signs disrupting the fueling experience?
4️⃣ Your plans for the site: Could replacement fit into a planned rebrand, forecourt upgrade or payment-system improvement?
5️⃣ Current promotions: Ask whether manufacturer promotions, rebates or incentives could help lower your upfront investment.
The right choice should support your budget, your operations and what’s next for your site. Connect with Northwest Pump’s petroleum team to talk through your options.

A fueling site is more than the equipment customers see at the dispenser.
From site and equipment planning to installation, construction coordination, electrical and forecourt support, and ongoing service, each piece affects how smoothly a project moves forward.
Northwest Pump helps connect the right people and expertise across the full site—helping customers reduce unnecessary handoffs and stay focused on building a reliable operation.

Could on-site nitrogen make sense for you?
It may be worth a closer look if nitrogen plays a regular role in your operation. Before making a decision, consider:
• How often do you use nitrogen?
• How important is reliable supply?
• Are deliveries or storage a challenge?
• Do you have specific flow or purity needs?
• Do contract terms limit your flexibility?
Every facility is different. Northwest Pump can help you evaluate your needs and find the right nitrogen supply strategy.

What’s happening underneath your dispensers? 👀
Everything above ground may look fine, while problems are developing below the surface. Regular inspections can help catch issues before they lead to equipment damage, downtime or potential compliance concerns.
Here are 4 things worth checking:
1. Signs of liquid — Fuel, water or other liquid in the dispenser sump deserves attention. Look for leaks, damaged components or other potential sources.
2. Corrosion & deterioration — Small pits, rust or cracking can become much bigger problems over time.
3. Loose or damaged connections — Check flexible connectors, shear valves, risers and other components for wear, movement or damage.
4. Sump condition — Cracks, damaged penetrations or deterioration can compromise the containment designed to help protect against releases.
Not sure what you’re looking at—or find something that doesn’t look right? Talk with the Northwest Pump team about inspection, troubleshooting and service solutions for your fueling operation.

Pump running hotter than normal? 🌡️ It could be telling you something.
Rising temperatures in a centrifugal pump can point to several issues—and catching the cause early can help prevent a smaller maintenance problem from becoming a bigger one.
Here are 5 areas worth checking:
1. Cavitation — V***r bubbles collapsing inside the pump can contribute to noise, vibration and equipment damage.
2. Misalignment — Misaligned shafts increase stress on bearings, seals and couplings. Fluke reports that more than 50% of rotating-equipment failures can be rooted in misalignment.
3. Lubrication — Too little grease increases friction, while too much can create churning and additional heat. Higher operating temperatures can also mean more frequent relubrication.
4. Operating range — Running too far from a centrifugal pump’s Best Efficiency Point (BEP) can increase hydraulic loading, vibration and cavitation.
5. Bearings — Worn bearings can create additional drag, friction and heat, making an unexpected temperature increase worth investigating.
💡 One of these maintenance needs can also be automated. Automated lubrication systems can deliver consistent amounts of grease at programmed intervals, helping reduce manual maintenance and keep lubrication on schedule.
Talk with the Northwest Pump team to find the right solution for your equipment and operation.
