Maine-built Schooner Harvey Gamage is the leading wooden USCG certified oceangoing sail training ship

Sailing Ships Maine, a 501(c)3, creates life-changing opportunities on the SSV Harvey Gamage for teens of all abilities and income levels to discover the ocean environment and expand leadership skills while encouraging them to consider further maritime training. Through public events, we support the marine economy, provide access to the ocean and traditional sailing ships and preserve our maritime heritage.

The historic schooner Harvey Gamage will offer three sunset sails during the Connecticut Maritime Heritage Festival:

📅 Sunday, September 13
⏰ Sailing from 5:30–8:30 p.m.
📍 New London, Connecticut
🎟️ Tickets: $65 per person

Help raise the sails alongside our crew or simply relax on deck and enjoy New London Harbor at sunset. No sailing experience is required, and guests are welcome to bring their own beverages and light snacks.

Best of all, every ticket supports the Marine Learning Project and our mission to provide transformative, hands-on educational experiences aboard the Harvey Gamage.

⛵ Sail to the Gloucester Schooner Festival!

Join us aboard the SSV Harvey Gamage for an unforgettable overnight voyage from Portland, Maine, to Gloucester, Massachusetts!

Experience life aboard a traditional working schooner as we sail down the New England coast to one of the region’s most celebrated maritime events.

📅 Wednesday, September 2–Thursday, September 3
📍 Departing from Portland Yacht Services
⚓ Boarding: Wednesday at 1:00 PM
🌊 Arrival in Gloucester: Thursday by 7:00 PM
🎟️ Tickets: $425 per person

Space aboard is extremely limited, so reserve your berth early!

Please note that this ticket is for the sail from Portland to Gloucester only. Guests are responsible for arranging transportation home from Gloucester.
