Menucha's Blues in the Gorge announces instructor #2, Vance Gilbert!
“If Joni Mitchell and Richie Havens had a love child, with Rodney Dangerfield as the midwife, the results might be something close to the great Vance Gilbert", says Richmond Magazine.

OK, Vance is not the guy I think of so much as a "blues guy" but he is a consummate perfomer, singer and songwriter with over 50 yrs. of unlimited wisdom to share with students. We are honored to present his first appearance in Portland, OR and can't wait to welcome his offbeat humor and charm at Blues in the Gorge.

Gilbert has been a songwriting, performance, and voice coach all around the world, kinda, from Australia to Winnipeg, at all the festivals above plus The Kerrville and Rocky Mountain Song Schools, and has a decade worth of summer programs at the Berklee College Of Music under his belt. BLUES IN THE GORGE ANNOUNCEMENTS!

We are so honored to announce our first staff member for this guitar intensive Oct 7-11, 2026 near Corbett, OR. Welcoming guitar wizard Bill Kirchen (Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen) to the list of great players/teachers who have graced the 13 years of musical inspiration at Menucha! Take a look at www.billkirchen.com and you will find his most impressive bio. Bill will be teaching some amazing guitar licks and patterns, songwriting and more. He is a force and we are over the moon to be able to be in his presence for five days. Bill is a titan of the telecaster but will be wrestling an acoustic guitar especially for our camp! Next instructor announcement coming up next month.
