As resources for homelessness services become increasingly limited, community support is more important than ever. Together, we can make sure older adults moving from homelessness into stable housing have the essentials they need to begin again.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! Organize a supply drive at your workplace, school, club, faith community, or with friends and family. Your group can collect complete bedding or kitchen kits, or simply donate individual items.

Transient Artist OA, is a multimedia artist and client of NW Pilot Project. Deeply inspired by Chinese culture and an analogous color scheme of pinks and purples, OA brings balance and intricacy to her work across many mediums.

Charles G is a multimedia painter and client of NW Pilot Project. Charles' passion for creating began at a young age and led him to study art at Western Nevada College where he developed skills across many different mediums, including tattooing, which he’s been practicing for 30 years. Inspired by his love for wildlife, Charles creates colorful, realistic paintings with an abstract twist. When he isn’t painting or tattooing, you might find him casting a line into the Willamette River for his next big catch.

The Golden Dragons Dragon Boat Club, a Portland paddling club of paddlers 50 years and older, show being active has no age limit. Catch them this weekend ringing in their 30 year anniversary racing at the Portland Rose Festival!

The Golden Dragons have been supporting NWPP for many years, making a positive impact on the lives of the vulnerable, low-income older adults we serve - including in-kind donations that help a senior's new apartment feel like home. We are so thankful for their ongoing generosity and support!

Dragon boat racers gear up for one of Portland's biggest summer traditions amid 30th anniversary The group is open to those 50 years and older. The Golden Dragons will race at Portland Rose Festival June 6 and 7.

NWPP Art in the Lobby Artist Spotlight for May - John C

John is an illustrator and client of NW Pilot Project. Growing up in the Bay Area watching ships in the harbor, John developed a lifelong fascination with machinery and a curiosity for how things are built. Drawing for as long as he can remember, boredom drove an early transition from graphite to colored pen and marker. Inspired by geometry, building materials, and World War II machinery, he has found that drawing helps occupy his busy mind.

John lives with his wife and biggest fan, Donna, in their apartment that doubles as a gallery for his endless creativity. Although he has created art privately for decades, this is the first time he is sharing his work publicly.

NWPP’s Art in the Lobby has returned!

Art in the Lobby is a way for our clients to explore their creativity and showcase their work monthly in our office downtown. Arranged and hung with care by NWPP staff, clients have the opportunity to share their artistic talents for others to enjoy.

Our first featured artist is Wendy B - a multimedia artist and client of NW Pilot Project. Wendy started making collages while living in California when she discovered cutting paper with scissors soothed her nerves during stressful times. Inspired by vacations she went on as a child, and wishing she could have traveled more, Wendy creates collages “so other people have something to dream about.” Now a prolific artist whose work has expanded to include a variety of mediums, you might see her around town searching for magazines, interesting pieces of driftwood, or “bobbles” to add to her handmade dream catchers.
