Space Garbage

Disposable materials like styrofoam shipping blocks, vacuformed plastic take-out containers, cardboard tubes, foamcore scraps, and other twenty-first century detritus are repurposed to become engine-room components and spaceship corridors. Upon entering the space, the viewer encounters a world that is alternately recognizable and novel, depending on one’s proximity. From afar "Space Garbage" looks unified and intact. But up close one begins to see the mundane origins of each individual component, and then the crude materials reveal themselves.
