A Couple Breaks Up. Who Gets Custody of Their Embryos? 09/10/2026

This morning, The Daily podcast did a riveting story about one divorced couple’s fight over the ownership of their shared embryos.

While this specific case is about a cisgender, heterosexual couple (as far as we know), it still highlights the emerging legal and cultural landscape of embryo ownership and what happens when things don’t go as planned. Since the trans community is more likely to use assisted reproductive technology than other communities, this is an important case to pay attention to if you’re creating embryos and want to ensure you’re thinking and planning ahead.

Will testosterone impact a pregnancy test? The short (and long) answer is no.Here's why: pregnancy tests measure human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), a hormone your body only produces during pregnancy. Luckily, testosterone has nothing to do with that measurement. So whether you have naturally high testosterone levels or you're taking it as part of your transition, a pregnancy test will still work for you... and it will be exactly as accurate as it is for anyone else.We hear this worry a lot from trans men and nonbinary folks, and it makes total sense. When so much of the health information out there wasn't written with us in mind, it's fair to wonder whether the usual rules apply. On this one, they do!So if you'd like to prevent pregnancy, use contraception. And if you ever need to take a pregnancy test, you can trust the result. No false positive and no false negative because of T.This post came directly from a DM we received, so keep your questions coming... we might just create content inspired by them!!!

Can transgender women experience PMS (and other menstrual-like symptoms)? A new study says yes!

As with anyone who experiences physical effects as hormones ebb and flow throughout the month, trans women absolutely can (and do) report cramps, cravings, mood changes, and acne. Researchers mapped these symptoms onto study subjects’ estrogen levels and found a correlation between reported symptoms and hormonal highs and lows.

Some of the participants felt that these experiences led to them to a deeper connected with their womanhood, while others felt ambivalent about them… reminding us that no community is a monolith.

Did you know that Trans Fertility Co has an online video library? We know that isolation is one of the most common experiences of trans folks going through fertility journeys, so we set a goal of having every kind of trans fertility story featured in our library. And we’re looking for new stories to tell!

If you’d like other trans people to hear what you experienced so they can learn from what you went through (and feel less alone), please apply to be interviewed for our video library. The library is completely free for any trans person who wants to access it, and it exists behind a password that can only be accessed by emailing us to ask for it (which keeps the trolls out). Each interview lasts an hour, and we’ll edit the conversation down to roughly 15 minutes so people actually watch it.

Fill out an easy application online now (link in bio) if you’d like to be considered! We’d love to share your story with other trans folks on fertility journeys!
